haha... i hate oscar de la ing hoya but it's pretty obvious this is an attention tryin to get some paper from golden girl.
NEW YORK (AP) -- A former stripper who says she photographed Oscar De La Hoya in racy women's undergarments showed up at court to confront the boxer Friday, only to learn he wasn't there.
Milana Dravnel and her lawyer put out a press release to attract cameras outside U.S. District Court in Manhattan for what was billed as an event: "OSCAR DE LA HOYA REUNITES WITH EX-MISTRESS IN FEDERAL COURT OVER SEXY LINGERIE PHOTOS."
But the boxer never showed. His lawyer, Judd Burstein said the pretrial hearing was entirely procedural, and not the type of court date his client would ever need to show up for.
That didn't stop Dravnel's lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, from staging a news conference outside the courthouse, telling two dozen members of the media and a collection of cameras that he looked forward to the day when Dravnel would not have to face cameras.
Asked why he put out a news release that attracted cameras, he said simply: "No comment."
Dravnel filed the lawsuit last year, alleging that de la Hoya defamed her character and caused her emotional distress by claiming the photos were phony.
"I've been hurt by what Oscar said. This was my only option," she said.
Strazzullo said he wanted to protect his client from "being called a liar, a fake, her being called a stripper."
At that point, his client spoke again.
"I haven't been a stripper for a year and a half. I'm trying to move on with something else," she said.
De La Hoya's lawyer, Burstein, said Dravnel's attempt to drum up publicity was absurd.
