The terrible performance of the Spurs continue as expected - easy WIN by the Pistons today who have decided the entire game in the 3rd quarter by holding the Spurs down to 11 pts...

The game was actually decided in the 'rebounding department' where it clearly showed Popovich must've made a mistake by trading Elson - it appears Thomas IS NOT GETTING it done on the boards - he was out-rebounded and out-hastled "BIT TIME" today...The problem is Tim Duncan also was out-rebounded under the basket as he missed some critical layups in "point blank" range.

The Spurs really SUCK - today we saw the true game that Popovich is playing - destroying the opposition's offense and their game by playing hard defense, but our offense "whatever happens"...well, the shots never came in the offense - 80 pts WON'T GET it done in the Playoffs, no WAY! NOT in my book...The horrible performance of the Mighty Mouse continues - 1-7 really struggling, this guy CANNOT EVEN get the ball close to the basket (to even hit it!) - this is how bad he is playing...yes, the Spurs were missing Bowen, Barry and Udoka today, so someone will say 'good performance', losing only by 4 pts; well, the loss is a loss, and the Spurs are PLAYING UGLY - they went down to 5th in the Conference right now, and I am not sure whether they want to stay there because the Hornets or Utah will be waiting for them...

The rebounding performance by the Spurs was horrific today - in the 1st half the offensive rbs were like 12-3(4) Pistons, something in that nature - there were instances when Pistons rebounded the ball offensively 3-4 consecutive times (!!!) and still couldn't hit a basket....which was very funny actually...

However, the secured the "W" in the 3rd as there was no doubt in my mind, since 2 nights ago after the blowout at NO, I knew the Spurs would lose that one as well (you don't recover from losses like that) - I expected a larger margin though, so Pop surprised me a little bit by losing only for 4 pts in the end 80-84 without Bruce, Udoka, Bonner and Barry...Pop used the same scenario as the last time we played at NO - Horry, Finley and the Mighty Mouse got 'their minutes' again - this time they had a little bit better performance, but still with those 3 guys playing MAJOR minutes instead of Bonner, Udoka, and Vaughn, the SPURS HAVE ZERO CHANCE, I REPEAT ZERO CHANCE to win the le this year...

It appears the recent trades Popovich made, put the team in the worse situation rather than better - Elson was quick and athletic, he covered Dirk Nowitzki very well last year, so with some hard work, he could've helped us better than Thomas in rebounding...Thomas is a veteran, yes, but it looks he is used up - today he couldn't be found under the basket - he was pushed badly by Rasheed, Ratliff, and McDyess...pretty bad for the Spurs...

The Spurs are traveling tomorrow to play the 76rs in a "MUST WIN" situation, if they want to stay in the TOP 5 in the Western Conference - if they lose tomorrow they are looking (as I said) in 4 game-losing streak because I don't believe Boston will come in "to give up" after the way they played against Utah - they will look for an excellent performance against the Spurs, and the way we rebound the basketball tight now, I don't see much chances for the Spurs in this game either - we will play a "catch up" with Boston at home again, the same way we did against Denver...however, Boston is better than Denver...

Are the Spurs in trouble? YOU BET THEY ARE...and the best barometer for this is Manu, who bailed them out in this 11-game winning streak -right now Manu appears hurt - he didn't score his usual points today and stayed ALL game almost behind the 3-pt line without being aggressive - maybe he is following some of the instructions of Pop NOT to be too aggressive until the Playoffs start, however, this will cost the Spurs games, stats, and seats, and it appears we are looking at early exit of the Playoffs this year, folks...the SPURS NEVER PLAYED SO BAD THIS LATE IN THE SEASON, an excellent barometer for you to know, they are NOT in the great shape to win it ALL...Last year we started the "run" with a win against the Pistons away, this year WE LOST 2 times from them, and when you look at over the years - every time we lose from the Pistons twice, we end up bad in the Playoffs and DON'T WIN ANYTHING...

THE GOOD NEWS FOR THE SPURS IS THE 'FAKERS' GOT DRILLED BY NO AS I PREDICTED - especially in the 4th quartet LA got their asses kicked pretty bad, so I was happy, at least to see that...

So, in summary, sad times Spurs Fans, the ship is going down slowly, but surely - the Spurs have less than 3 1/2 weeks to "get it together" and I don't see it happening, and we those LOSES TODAY, we probably LOST the fight for the Number 1 seat in the Western Conference (taking into account the rough schedule ahead) - the streak now against teams over .500 this year is terrible - we lost 13 out 20...this is your barometer on how good we are this year...

GO MANU!!! In Manu I trust ONLY...

Even though Thomas didn't rebound well today (he didn't play much) ...

Elson has a horrible basketball IQ, he's a bad defender, and doesn't outrebound Thomas. And it's a myth that he was actually good at guarding Dirk.

Aren't you a Manu fan? You should know that he is hurt and very, very fatigued. Pop hasn't given him any instructions to stop being aggressive. He just is physically struggling right now.

Sadly we don't have a lot of athletic guys that can cut to the basket, so that leaves Manu and Tony to have to do all the cutting.......and in turn get pounded.

This year, when we went looking for additions to the roster, we added more aged players in Thomas, Udoka and Stoudamire.

A few proven vets are good but during this grueling stretch of games, we are looking more like a senior citizens basketball league team who forgot to bring their viagra and can't get it up.

I hope their play will validate their signing when we get to the playoffs.

not really, I support the team, and posting in message boards has nothing to do with the way we play, besides, you took only some words of my entire statement, which was pertaining mainly to Horry, Finley, and the Mighty Mouse...

With all of this, the Spurs are undoubtedly in their toughest stretch of the season and still they're right there and should still have a good chance to reseize the top seed in the West (or to win the division) as the season closes. After tonight, the Spurs have only 2 more back-to-backs (and by the end of next week, they'll only have 1 more); after Monday, the majority of their games are against teams that won't make the playoffs; getting home from this trip, the Spurs will have the majority of their remaining games at home, too (though I'll grant that some of the Spurs tough remaining games are roadies (at Dallas, at LA, at Utah)).

The point is that even dropping 4 of 5 hasn't cost the Spurs much in any real sense. They're still right there for all the things that a team can accomplish in a regular season. If anything, it may cause more people to sleep on them as the playoffs near; I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

Still waiting on that list of players that were younger and just as good.

You guys touting the younger line haven't produced it yet.

Doing it all with an exhausted Ginobili, no Brent Barry, and a team still getting used to Kurt Thomas.

Kurt Thomas HAS to get more minutes though. His lack of minutes last night was just re ed. If hes gonna get his minutes cut back, at least bring him off the bench and play him when Duncan goes to the bench so you can have a big that can score and run a pick and roll with manu and Parker.

Well, had Bowen, Udoka and Barry played, REMEMBER, the Pistons would've had a different plan and different intensity. THE BOTTOM LINE IS the SPURS got their asses kicked on the boards last night, BIG TIME, and there is no way they will win a 7-game series by rebounding like that...I am saying there is no WAY they will win the le if Udoka, Bonner and Vaughn sit for Finley, Horry and the "Mighty-S**t-Mouse"...These are my 2 points.

Manu is hurt, NO QUESTIONS asked right now!!! He wasn't the same Manu we know in the last 2 games - I guess he is due for a REST, but Popovich isn't giving it to him...

The Spurs are NOT completely out of it, just yet, for the TOP spot, but their schedule is BRUTAL, and the LEAGUE RIGHT NOW IS AGAINST them - last night they got very questionable calls against them - Horry with 4 fouls for no time, Timmy is really pushed under the basket, no calls, however, I DON'T WANT TO COMPLAIN about it now, because despite those (for the home team always!) we had to play better on the boards and win it...we had that chance...

    GO MANU!!! GO SPURS!!!

The terrible performance of the Spurs continue as expected - easy WIN by the Pistons
Stopped reading right there. If you can't even get your facts straight in the first sentence, then nobody's going to take you seriously. Rip Hamilton hit a really amazing and-1 and the Pistons had to shoot free throws to put the game away. By definition, not an "easy win".

Look.. I started reading the first post and stopped at around the 2nd paragraph. I like Manu but you are out of your mind.

The notion that the spurs have zero chance to win clearly shows you haven't seen the spurs playing all these years. I think you went too far and I'm really getting tired of these type of threads, all negative, etc.

Tomorrow the spurs happen to blow some team out and I'm sure I will be seeing a thread started by you saying they are the best team in the world.

This behaviour of going from total happiness to utter destruction clearly shows the level of BB IQ some people have in this forum. You are not the only one.

You need to exercise caution and think twice before you post - I'm sure there has to be a reason for the spurs to have lost 4 out of the last 5 other than "they suck".

.especially against a big, physical team like Detroit. That game was tailor-made for KT and his game. Don't know what Pop was thinking about in limiting his minutes. Unless he thought Horry was going to turn back the clock to 2005.
