Police Search For Killer After Mutilated Body of Young Mom Found

Police are searching for a killer after the mutilated body of a young woman was found on the Northwest Side over the weekend.

The woman's body was found around 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning near an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Magic Drive, close to IH-10 and Loop 410.

Police have identified the woman as 24-year-old Roxanne Diaz. Investigators are still trying to determine if the young mom's killer was a stranger or someone she knew.

A man walking his dog along a path found the Diaz's body. She was unclothed from the waist down. Police told News 4 it appears Diaz was murdered in one spot on the path and then dragged to where her body was found. She'd been stabbed several times.

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything in the area to call them. The San Antonio Police Department non-emergency number is 210-207-7273.
