The trade between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs has been put on hold by the league office. It was learned today that Nazr Mohammed has a grade 2 groin tear, and the trade is therefore still pending. A second opinion by the Spurs' team physcian in San Antonio Friday morning will decide whether or not the trade is null and void. The Houston-New York trade was approved by the league about three hours after the 3 p.m. ET deadline.
Originally, the Knicks would send starting center Nazr Mohammed and backup point guard Jamison Brewer to the Spurs for Rose and the two picks, a first-round choice in 2005 that originally belonged to the Suns, and the Spurs' No. 1 pick in 2006.
