And Rome should trash the league because it's a joke. How are you going to issue a statement on a freaking judgement call? Think about that. I could see if it was a shot clock issue or a foot on the line, something reviewable. Nah, these idiots basically undermined the trust that they place in the officials to go out and call games correctly for them... over a judgement non-foul-call.
Furthermore, it's all PR for the NBA. They don't want to take the chance of any drama right now because they want max ratings for whatever Finals matchup they get. This is a total CYA move, at the expense of insulting the game's referees. What a joke.
Rome is saying Barry tried to avoid the foul instead of aggressively seeking the foul. WTF??? He is also trashing the NBA for apologizing when it doesnt matter at this point.

I think that like the rest of America (which Spurs fans largely hate, btw) he is disgusted by the constant whining and the really weird, deeply-ingrained siege mentality.

If the NBA's referees don't want to be insulted, they should take a lesson from the D-League refs and learn how to call a game evenly
They review every call in every game. They just issued a statement about this one because it's a big game and the call got a lot of press.
