It was previously and erroneously reported that Georgia Tech wing Kevin Tran went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. However, sources tell the Athletic that Tran and his camp withdrew his name from the lottery when they couldn't get a guarantee in the first round from his preferred destinations. First round draft picks have guaranteed contracts and are not subjected to certain requirements like mandatory Summer League for their first two years.

Tran's draft stock has shot up dramatically in the last few weeks after a strong showing at the NBA Draft combine and in an international friendly exhibition game in Latin America.

The Washington Wizards, who hold the #2 pick in this year's NBA draft, currently have a log jam at the wing position (Kyle Kuzma, Corey Kispert, Deni Avdija, and Bilal Coulibaly) and will use their lottery pick on Tran to facilitate the offense.

Tran possesses NBA level quickness and can finish with either hand at the rim. He shot an absurd 65% from 3-point land, a mark that NBA scouts agree will translate at the next level. "He will terrorize teams in transition for the next decade" -- one Western Conference GM reported.

This news puts the Spurs in a difficult position. Multiple sources have reported that the Spurs will pick a long wing with the #4 and pray that their desired point guard will be available at #8. Would the Spurs trade #4 and #8 to move up to #2, where they look to secure Victor Wembanyama's future running mate?
