That would have to be quite an interesting trade.
Source - Dallas NewsThe Sacramento Kings have tried for a Ron Artest trade to Dallas in exchange for Josh Howard, but the Mavericks are not interested, the Dallas Morning News is reporting.
The Mavs were willing to give up Jerry Stackhouse and Brandon Bass for the former All-Star, but when the Kings wanted Howard in return the discussions ended, writes Brandon George.
The talk involving Artest and Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers also appears to have broken down while Phoenix and San Antonio are still interested
Not sure what can we offer to the Kings in exchange

Finley,Udoka and 2nd round draft pick is what i am guessing.
Stackhouse & Bass > Finley & Udoka
I still don't buy this. Spurs have little, in the way of assets, to offer.
yea thats all the spurs got...haha
would the Beno trade exemption help in the cause?
Maybe the Kings "feel" that they owe the Spurs for Beno, so they will do the deal for Bonner![]()
of course the Spurs are interested. i'm interested too and i have just as much to offer the Kings as the Spurs...nothing
![]()
Hope they are not considering giving up Ian or Gist for Artest...
I still say we have about a 2% chance of this happening...
i think the best offer we can give is probably
Udoka,Ian, and 2nd rounder.....i dont know if to believe this article

I'm interested in dating Salma Hayek.
Will it ever happen? No.
I would definitely give up one of these two players for Artest if it meant we did not have to give up one of our big 3. Artest fills our biggest need.
But I agree this is stretch armstrong.
our biggest need would actually be a slasher but id take artest
Artest makes $7 million per year. How are the peanuts we are paying Udoka and Ian going to match? And why the would SAC want Udoka and Ian for Artest?
Bull ! Regarding Gist and Ian, we haven't even been able to see the fruits of their hard work and you're wanting to ship them out for this nut? no. Remember Artest's contract is up after this season. So the possibility looms that you'll only have him for one year. I don't touch the Big Three or any of this new young nucleus (Gist, Hill or Ian)
we have as much chance to get Artest as we do to get Maggette
Wrong. We have slashers. We need an athletic swing that can defend multiple positions and score effectively. So that when Bruce goes of the floor or we have a scoring drought we can put someone in that can not only score, but not make our defense dip.
Our second biggest need is a better defensive big man who can guard the 4/5, block shots and rebound on both ends.
A slasher, of which we already have 2 of the best in the game would be 3rd at best, imo.
You're not serious, right ?
You do not touch a second rounder that is unproven for a guy like Artest that automatically takes you to the next level with an aging Tim Duncan? If your goal is to maximize championships now, you do this in a heartbeat.
What do you think Gist ceiling is if he is to play the 3 spot in the NBA? At best, you hope he can turn into Ron Artest on both ends of the floor. So why wait, when you can get Artest now. A bird in the hand...
Parker is a great slasher but Manu is not going to be 100% next year and his athleticism is on the decline. he cant do the crazy things he used to do anymore on a consistent basis. so we need someone thats young who can drive and finish around the basket very well.
If that is the case, then we should just trade Ginobili and keep the youngsters. Get some value in return put more pieces in place.
I do not buy that, I think we are good on the slashers. Would not hurt to get more, but that is not our biggest need imo. Artest gets to the rim decently, he is a jump shooter primarily, but when he puts his head down, he can go.
