If Shaq gave amare half his brain, they would have 1 brain between them.

Lemme see... a GED and a college dropout vs A BS in Math and one in Psychology...

D Rob has been with the franchise for nine years when duncan came on with an already established coaching strategy. D rob was old and comfortable. Shaq is big and tired, can barely breath keeping up with pheonix, thats the way i see it. Twin Towers worked because Duncan came young, it wont work with pheonix when Shaq comes old.

david robinson was a beast during our first championship year... he still averaged close to 19 points a game that year iirc.

it wasnt until the new millenia that his offensive game started deteriorating... and many will say that had more to do with his defference to duncan than any physical ailment... although he had many... and even still... he was one of the best big men defenders in the league up until his retirement.

im not sure about my facts.. but didnt amare enter the league at the age of 20? even though he went to no college? duncan entered at i believe at 21 after 4 years.

Well, I guess that will give Amare and Shaq something to ponder during their annual fishing expedition.

If those two guys hook up, it's their business. I just hope it's at the hotel and not on the court. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

In 1999 Robinson was 33 years old built like Mr. Universe and close to his prime. Shaq is 36, way out of shape and lightyears past his prime. Plus he is never healthy anymore.

"The ganomes can be out, Shaq."

"For the fortieth time, Stat, the G is silent. You pronounce it like the city in Alaska."

"Oh, I see. So the anchorages are out?"

have you been watching this year?

celts and lakers >>>> spurs by miles. just because we're spurs fans doesn't mean we should avoid the truth.

our reign had to come to end sometime.

we can't win a championship against these stacked celts and lakers teams.

    we had a good run.

on the bright side, how fun is this boston-la finals gonna be?? man i can't wait

I think we have a troll on our hands. Either that, or a gutless frontrunner.

The bottom line is this: If the Spurs and/or Lakers are healthy for the playoffs, one of them (probably the Spurs - it will probably take the Lakers one more year to solidify the team chemistry, even though they have D Fish & Kobe that share 3 championship rings) will make it to the finals, not Phoenix. Who knows what will happen against Boston after that?

Only one team has won the championship in recent memory without an established core that has played together at least a couple of years (Miami), and that was only due to the choking ("deer in the headlights") Mavs.

Phoenix will not win this year - Shaq is not the same as 3 years ago, and doesn't have a Zo in Phoenix to play in the 4th quarter to prevent "hack a Shaq", and Phoenix will decline very rapidly with the "big $20 million out of shape" at center. Good by Phoenix - see you in 10 years maybe after rebuilding a couple of more times.

There's never going to be a "new" Duncan.
He's one of a kind, there won't be another player quite like him again.

He came into the league ready to polish, he came into the perfect enviorment for his personality. He's shown nothing but class and loyalty and a stunning team first work ethic from day one.

    There won't be another one.

Actually, Amare and Shaq are the new Barkley/Drexler/Hakeem. I would say the new Shaq and Malone... but that involves Shaq already.

Yeah I'll believe it when I see it but I'm not counting on it.
Anyway comparing Tim to Amare? Are we serious or did someone just run out of things to do and made this stuff up? It's a joke. There is NO comparison.

Pau and Bynum I believe are more potent than Amare and Shaq....but let's not get ahead of ourselves and compare them to TD and Drob.
