Team USA names Chandler No. 1 alternate

New Orleans Hornets center Tyson Chandler has been invited to travel with Team USA to the Beijing Olympics as the No. 1 alternate, ESPN.com has learned.

That means Chandler can be added to the active roster until Aug. 6 in the event of injury to one of the 12 active roster members.

Team USA's other five alternates will be Kevin Durant, Joe Johnson, Mike Miller, Chauncey Billups and Shawn Marion.
