The Blazers have the following lottery picks on their squad:
Oden #1
Aldridge #2
LaFrentz #3
Roy #6
Webster #6
Frye #8
Diogu #9
Bayless #11
Przybilla #9
And Rudy would be a top-10 pick this year easily. Is there any doubt that this team will dominate the league for the next decade?
I dont think they're championship-ready yet.
Dude, you are quickly approaching LakerFan ground, and believe me when I say this, it's a very hard thing to achieve.
For f... sake we get that the Blazers have a lot of young talent, now let's see them play before we crown them.
I would like to see them move a wing and a pick in a sign and trade for Posey.
I still don't understan how Bayless fits with this team. A scoring PG doesn't make sense. I would have been a lot more excited had they traded for Westbrook.
How did they get all those picks? Oh yea, because they in suck.
and by then, half the team will jet for Free Agency.
Bayless fits perfectly. Brandon Roy will be the distributor.
BTW, I can't even mention Travis Outlaw since he was picked late in the 1st round directly from high school.![]()
Blazers level of playoff experience........
Still waiting....but yes, they are a nice young team.
Chicago Bulls
Derrick Rose #1
Ben Gordon #3
Tyrus Thomas #4
Drew Gooden #4
Luol Deng #7
Kirk Hinrich #7
Larry Hughes #8
Joakim Noah #9
Thabo Sefolosha #13
Cedric Simmons #15
I know Roy will handle the ball primarily but I don't see your #1 scorer as being an effective distributor. They needed a selfless defender at the point. With range if they're lucky.
I actually like the Bulls a lot. Too bad they are a doughnut team.
Until Oden proves to be close to fully healthy in a game that has any signifance, so are the Blazers.
Since when does top 10 draft pick mean they will automatically be solid players?
It all hinges on Oden. If he doesn't live up to the hype, or has problems staying out of foul trouble or has a Ralph Sampson-like injury history, then this team will be another Golden State. For the record, I like Oden and hope he makes it...
This isn't the first Blazers team with a bunch of high lottery picks on the squad. The 2000-01 team had Sheed Wallace, Pippen, Steve Smith, Damon Stoudamire, Detlef Schrempf, Brian Grant, Stacey Augmon, Jermaine O'Neal, Bonzi Wells, Greg Anthony, and Arvydas Sabonis.
It would suck if you were the Blazers GM. All this talk and hyping to fall short. You got talent, now you gotta show it.
Apparently I have to wait until after game 1 of the 2008/2009 season for you to change your position. That's okay, I can wait.
It has nothing to do with my position.
At any rate, this thread was about the Blazers' "incomparable" talent, with you listing how high the players on the Blazers' roster were drafted as evidence of this "talent."
My first post offered the roster of the Chicago Bulls and where their players were drafted. Wouldn't you say the Bulls roster has "comparable" talent based on where they were collectively drafted? I would.
Pretty much means this thread is wrong.
