Suns activate Barbosa, release Parker

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Phoenix Suns activated guard Leandro Barbosa from the injured list Friday and released guard William ``Smush'' Parker.

Barbosa sprained his ankle when he stepped on Steve Nash's foot during practice Jan. 18. He was placed on the injured list the next day and missed nine games.

Barbosa, who backs up Nash at point guard, has averaged 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14.9 minutes in 30 games this season.

Parker was on his second 10-day contract when he was released. He averaged three points and 6.8 minutes in five games.

Barbosa will be in uniform Saturday night at home against New York.
