Quite a shocker, though maybe not so much since 2008 hasn't been a very good year to him.

I can't stand this. I am a HUGE Federer fan...I love him as much as I love the Spurs. If I can't stand even reading about him losing and watching him lose these matches he should be winning, I cannot even imagine how he must be feeling.

At this point it has got to be a mental thing. And he definitely needs to consider changing his style a little bit or getting a coach. With the way he's been playing, he could even drop to 3 by the end of the year.

This year is a write off year, IMO. It takes months to fully shake off after effects.

Not a shock, Federer has been horrible in the Olympics even when he was the stud dominating everyone in majors. He ended up gold-less in Sydney and Athens as well.

If anyone was going to beat him, I'm glad it was Blake.

I don't know what it is about the Olympics that the normal studs who dominate the normal tournaments can't win in the Olympics for nothing. Nadal is still alive, but from what I understand he has struggled in his last couple of matches. I just don't get it.... I mean even the William's sisters got beat in straight sets...... BAD!

Do you think the players take the Olympics as seriously as they do Wimbledon, Australia, French, or US Open?

    Federer did.
He'll be back next year. The genius/talent is just there. He's just sluggish (you can see it in his movement).

They can't. Too many of them go there and end up getting their asses handed to them by the same people who at Wimbledon, or any of the Open's they would easily handle in straight sets.
