In an interview on the Today Show this morning, host Meredith Vieira asked Meghan McCain about Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-IL) comments that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “doesn’t get it.” Meghan responded by pointing to her dad’s service in Vietnam and her two brothers who are currently enlisted. She then went a step further, however, saying that her family is the only family that understands war:

..........um, probably between her family and the family of the man that accused her father of not getting it, perhaps. just a hunch maybe.
I don't think she meant it the way it came out. She's not running for president anyway, so I don't care even if she did.
Neither are Rev. Wright, William Ayers, or Mic e Obama but tell that to republicans.
I agree with Manny on this. Her opinions are completely irrelevant (but apparently they make for good news filler).

Its true to an extent though. The campaign would gladly take any benefits they get from family surrogates. So they should in theory take the flak too, right?
I don't get the need to have her out there to begin with, because of how little I value her opinion.

I remember when that conservative senator (Italian last name) had his family beside him while giving some speach, and one of her daughters was crying, there were some resident liberals scoffing at her (I remember boutons being one) and claiming she was fair game simply for being in the podium.

Ok, she's going on Larry King tonight. it, if the campaign wants to keep trotting her out then I say she's fair game.
I thought the McCain campaign declared Larry King Live verboten? (Larry King is such a savage, probing interviewer, and all)

McCain: First of all, she's really chill. She's really nice, really friendly. She's really up on pop culture, which I always respect. She's very smart. She doesn't act en led, which unfortunately sometimes you get with some politicians. She's just like your average girl, like just a mom. But she's very, very shrewd, very smart. I've heard her talking about issues.
