Hi, can anyone explain to me how a capture card works? I see people 'capping' videos all the time and playing them in AVI format or something like that. I'd like to know how to capture videos of Spurs games so that I can make a mix or something like that.

I only have a laptop though and no desktop so I don't know if it will work. Also, I heard that I need a card that has a coaxial input or something like that. My dorm room allows for TVs to get cable and HDTV, if it has anything to do with that. Sorry, I know very little about the topic and that's why I'm asking for help

go to ebay or Craig's list and

    Buy one of these.

And put your cable in one of these.

or you can just put one of these in your desktop.

That's good, but it looks like it's only for desktops.

Then you will have to use the USB tv card. Bite the bullet, get 69 dollars and hit circuit city.
