O.K. Guys, I want to know I wasn't the only one today that had a few blunders going on!

    1. Dropped hot oven rack on shag carpet.

    2. Thought two bags of fresh spinach would feed l2, in fact cooked down to 1 cup.

    3. Hubby, before company arrived, shattered a glass shelf in curio cabinet, while showing his son his "antique" fishing crap.

    4. Bought de-caf instead of regular coffee for coffee drinkers.

    5. Due to severe lower back pain, took too many aspirin, and have been taking antacids for last hour.

    6. "Too be cont'd" Grey's anatomy.

So fess up ya'll, I can't be the only one. But all in all my day turned out to be really nice

Well Marini I hope you had plenty of libation to help you along! I actually did quite well this year because I was only assigned a starter (they have at last learned their lesson). And my world famous pumpkin bisque is always a hit!

I most certainly did, thanks MrsM Did you get back from Va., yet? How was it w/ \your a/r sis in law?? It really turned out pretty great at my house, considering I fed 12. My hubby even thanked me at the end of the evening, for the chance to be with his side of the family that we rarely see.

No ma'am I am still a prisoner here. Actually we are in Bethany Beach, Delaware and I hope to be back to SA tomorrow evening. The "menfolk" took the kids out fishing so I snuck a laptop into my room and am cheating on my one hr per day allotted internet time! Yes, the A/R s-i-l makes us "sign up" for an hour a day!!

Naw, its an area rug, black & grey. Didn't f#ck it up too bad.

Oh& I forgot this one, when my husband lit the fireplace the room filled with smoke, cuz the flu was closed And he spent the better part of last week installing a gas heater in our family room, to make sure everyone stayed warm. Everyone was sweating, especially me

Then my daughter's b.f. brought a friend that had a 6m.o. kitten, that knocked all the bottom "antique" christmas balls off my tree

And my funky forties apron, covered my cute outfit, and it has a big burn mark on the front of it

And I took so many aspirin for my lower back pain, I was eating pepsid crap by the handfuls

Manu (the new dog) got in a fight with our old dogs, biting Yogi's eye (lots of blood) and causing me to flip out. Manu also crashed through a window in our house. Needless to say, we weren't even able to go to our inlaws for Thanksgiving dinner. We stayed home and I cooked steak, sausage, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. It was fun day anyway, despite the problems.

Unfortunately, Manu can't stay here so he'll be getting a new home.

I hosted dinner at my house for 16 people. Both my family and my husband's. This was the first time in our ten years of marriage that the two sides have ever met. One sister came in the day before to help me with the cooking. When she found out I was using boxed stuffing she almost fainted. I told her that we liked it but if she wanted to make it homemade then feel free to go for it. Once I got her in the kitchen she went wild and made almost everything except the turkeys and ham. I did those. She's a whiz in the kitchen.

It actually went pretty well except for my other sister who was a complete . She and my niece kept insisting that I had not set enough places, I assured them I did. We went back and forth until I was ready to explode. Turns out I was right. Then just as we were sitting down to eat she said "thank god we don't have to eat that boxed crap you wanted to make." We also had to keep our dog in the bedroom or outside the entire day because she complained about being allergic to dogs even though she has one at home. Right after she made the stuffing comment I called my husband in to the bedroom and cried on his shoulder for about 2 minutes and then composed myself and went on with the day.

    Thank god for the mimosas!!!

This is honestly why I'm glad I have no siblings and that my parent's families really in my life. Seriously, I tire of all their bull too easily and if what happened to you, happened to me, there'd be some hungry people walking out of my house immediately after those statements.

You let a comment about stuffing make you cry? No wonder you avoid the Troll forum

How about having her host next years Thanks Giving and make sure you invite me!

It was just the final straw in an entire day of her being a . I even went through the hassle of having the carpets and tile steamed cleaned and got the dog shaved in order to accommodate her. Believe me the troll forum has nothing on the already bossy oldest child going through menopause. If I can survive her then the Troll Forum is a day at the beach. I just don't go in there anymore because I haven't had time.

Please tell me they did not stay at your house overnight! If it was me they would have to hide that "heat" you're holding

Ugh...I hate when family that come to YOUR house take over.

My sil is like that. My mom has Christmas at her house every year and my sil will immediately hop up and start doing the dishes, practically before you can finish your food...which my mom hates. Not that she minds that my sil helps do them, but we all like to linger around the table and talk and, oh, I don't know, let our food settle maybe? My mom has told her to stop repeatedly, but she still does it. Which means my sister and I have to reluctantly get up and help her.

    She's annoying.
