Oct 16, 2008 1:29 PM EST
The Miami Heat announced on Thursday that forward James Jones will undergo surgery on Saturday, Oct. 18 to repair a ruptured extensor tendon in his right wrist. The rupture occurred during practice on Oct. 15.
After consulting with Heat team physician Dr. Harlan Selesnick, the surgery will be performed by Dr. Ann Ouellette. Following surgery, Jones will have his wrist placed in a cast and he is expected to be out for three months.

I thought he was a solid signing for the Heat. Good three point shooter, and would have had plenty of looks with defenses collapsing on Wade and Beasley. Can play the 2, 3, and 4 depending on the match-ups. Solid defensively. Sucks for Miami.
bad for Heat and JJones. he's a great role player, I always thought he could have been a very nice FA target for us this summer.
however, he will miss more than half of the regular season.
and this could be somehow interesting for us. it's been already reported, that the Heat likely will look for a replacement for Jones.
Ime?
(if the Spurs still want Cook, this could be the chance)
a better option would be to just play cook. i dont see them trading for ime.
