Anyone been to Luby's lately?

We would eat there quite often when I was little at Central Park Mall. Then me and my brother would eat fast and run accross to play at the arcade.

Haven't been there in a long time. I would walk out paying 35+ for two adults and one child. No more, not worth it.

Last time I ate there was about a year and a half ago with some church sponsors. Damn right those old farts had Luanne platters.

I liked Wyatt's so much better. That was the highlight of Ingram Park Mall when I was little. That and the pet store (we got two cats from there).

I haven't eaten at a Luby's in 20 years, but for what you get that sounds awful. Have they done anything to improve since the late 80s?

Back in the day they used to have ladies pushing carts that walked on by refilling your drinks and walked the on.

I heard that a Luby's manager can clear over a 100 grand a year. Ain't that a !

That's what I would always get when my grandparents took me there when I was a kid. Went a few months back when I visited by granddad in the hospital and I was kind of surprised that they have wait staff now.

You stand in line, get your own food and drink, stand in line to pay, carry your own tray to your table and then some asshole walks up and says, "Hi, I'm Asshole and I'll be your server today."

I'm convinced Luby's does this so their "servers" can bus the tables and only be paid server wages.

My sister and I took my dad to the one on Walzem for his birthday earlier this year. Why? Because he INSISTED that's where he wanted to go. We came to the conclusion he wanted to save us money, because it's freaking Luby's...can't be expensive can it? 4 dinners, 3 teas, and a water...$48. me, we coulda gone to Chili's and got that big chocolate fudge thing and a couple of beers for that much!

And my dad wanted green beans, which of course, they were currently out of, but "if you take this number to your table, we'll bring them right out!"...right out, yeah right. She should have said "we'll bring them out right before you're ready to leave", because that's when they showed up.

Luby's, and Skip "I can't go to jail, I'm in a wheelchair because I tried to kill my stupid ass and failed after I got busted with kiddie porn" Wenglein. You were a ty band director, asshole!
