In this photo released by The Dubai Tennis Championships, Andre Agassi of the United States hits a ball from the helipad of the Burj al Arab hotel, during a publicity shoot, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Tuesday Feb. 22, 2005. The world number one, Switzerland's Roger Federer and the American tennis legend played on a specially prepared tennis court for some 20 minutes on top of the helipad which stands 211 meters (692 feet) high. Both players are participating in the Dubai Tennis Tournament.

There's a series of these showing Tiger Woods hitting golf balls off the same helipad.

I wonder how much the nightly rate for rooms is there? Couldn't get a booking on travelocity.

"You've got to spend money to make money." is the catchphrase of the decade for Dubai. In an effort to become the financial capital of the middle east, they have begun several "world's biggest" projects:

    -The world's biggest amusement park
-The world's largest mall (already open, I believe)
-The world's tallest building, which will obliterate the current record holder by almost 300 meters.

    Here's an article on it.

The current world's tallest list - note the height in meters. The Dubai tower will be 800 meter tall.

Gotta hand it to them. Can you imagine the appearence fees you need to pay to get Tiger Woods to show up and hit golf balls off your helipad? Yikes.
There is a yearly golf tournament in Dubai.

Tiger get $1M just as an appearance fee.
