ay, thanks manny! my tia cooked some tamales for the holidays and i've only ate 3 dozen myself so far. i'm on a diet.
I never understood tamales until this year when my sister's boyfriend's aunt sent some home with her last night. Oh my. It was a christmas heaven. I guess, I just didn't have any good one's until last night.

About 10,000,000 calories of indigestion. But they are DAMN good if you get 'em homemade or from the right spots. Besides, its good to indulge once in awhile!

We (my family) eat pork roast, sauerkraut and dumplings ... it's a German (Pennsylvania Dutch) thing.

My mom made some bad ass beans to go with the tamales and of course rice. I've been eating tamales for 2 days now.
we didn't need those this year.
