    They probably franchised him as a precaution since Tom Brady is reportedly having knee infection problems since his first surgery, which may put him in doubt for next season.

    Patriots are not gonna just let a top 10 QB go. They'll either sign and trade him for defense, or Brady's career is over and they want to keep Cassel. There are serious doubts about whether Brady will ever be the same.
