george karl is not scared of the spurs?
The Phoenix Suns have their first official offer for their All-Star power forward Amare Stoudemire as of last night. The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting the Nets have offered a package of Yi Jianlian, Ryan Anderson, and a first round draft pick for Amare. Whether or not that will be enough to land Stoudemire remains to be seen, but you can bet there will be offers submitted by many teams, including Detroit(Rasheed Wallace involved), Chicago(see trade option below), Portland(Will Lemarcus Alridge be shipped out), and Miami(Shawn Marion going back home?). This story seems to be evolving very quickly, stay tuned…
The Bulls offer for Amare could be more intriguing. The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago could entice Phoenix with a combination of expiring contracts of Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons, along with young talent of Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas.
The Nuggets, who are enjoying one of their best regular seasons in quite a while, may thank Andrew Bynum’s injury for the reason they do not make a deal before the trade deadline. The Rocky Mountain News reports that Nuggets coach George Karl was worried about the Lakers big lineup before the injury that will sideline Bynum for 3 months. Denver is vying to finish either 2 or 3 in the West, so they can avoid the Lakers until the Conference Finals.
Minnesota has turned around their season since Kevin Mchale took over the reigns as coach. Now it seems that after the season, Mchale will recommend the hiring of former Raptors head coach Sam Mitc , according to the NY Daily News. Mitc is expected to draw interest from a few teams with interim coaches, including Washington and Oklahoma City as well.
It was just seven months ago that the Los Angeles Clippers signed their franchise point guard, Baron Davis, to a five year, $65 million dollar deal. Ever since then, the wheels have seemed to fall off for the Clippers. With the play of Eric Gordon, many in L.A. feel Baron Davis may be on the trade block. Marc Stein of ESPN reports if they can find a team willing to take on that massive contract, Davis could find a new home soon.
Could the Wizards be interested in wheeling and dealing? Ivan Carter of the Washington Post reports that Wizards President Ernie Grunfield has been taking calls on both Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison over the last few days. Though he did not say for certain that either is on the trading block, one could assume that if the right deal could be done, perhaps Amare Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa for any combination of Jamison, Butler, or Deshawn Stevenson, the Wiz could be looking completely different soon.
If the Cavaliers don’t land Vince Carter via a trade, there may be another player in their eyesight. The NY Daily News reports that Carter’s former Nets teammate Richard Jefferson is on the block by the Bucks, and Cleveland may look to send Wally Szczerbiak’s expiring contract in exchange for Jefferson.
The Pistons Rasheed Wallace spoke yesterday on the rumors of him being traded. The Detroit News reports that Wallace’s reaction was simply “If I get traded, I don’t care”. Though Pistons GM Joe Dumars has said he is not shopping any member of his roster, things can change quickly.

Guess not.
james with vc
both deserve each other
Yi, Anderson and a pick? How can Phoenix turn that down?!
Kerr will probably wait until all offers are in before making any move
Portland would be re ed to even consider it.
LaMarcus Alridge, as an overall basketball player, is better than Amare Stoudamire. Not as good as an offensive player talentwise, but he plays on both side of the court consistently, and has a functional brain beetween his ears.
too bad we have absolutely no shot.....cause I would love to have Rasheed for at least the rest of this season.....yes he may be a pain in the butt.....but just think how much better we would be on both ends with him. Duncan and Sheed would definitely be able to compete with Gasol and Bynum in a 7 game series.
Oh well....guess we will have to watch him go elsewhere....
Imagine of the Lakers traded Odom to the Pistons for Wallace.....that would suck.
Suck for who?
Its funny both Lamar Odom and Wally are having solid games as their names have been tied to trade rumors lately
the Spurs actually do have a chance. They can sign Horry and add a filler.
If Spurs fans get a useful player out of a corpse, they no longer can complain about the Gasol trade
if i was the blazers? u do it aldridge for amare.....
oden would cover up his defensive weakness.....
I wish this could be true
Guess he figures if he plays the spurs in the playoffs Pop will bench his starters and play his reserves for the series.
Why the would the Cavs want Jefferson?
Stoudemire on the Bulls would be nice - I'm sure he in combination with Rose would be fun to watch.
Yi, Anderson, and New Jersey's 1st round pick for Amare?
PASS.
Nope. Oden would then begin to foul out every game cause Amare just wants to score and sadly McMillian would not do about it.
