I made a withdraw from the local bank here.

One of the $100 bills they gave me looks like this

The difference is it's signed by Katherin Ortego which I looked up was the treasury secretary at that time.

Anyway the thing is, It's a perfectly clean bill, no marks, nothing.

    1985 Series

Have any of you run into this kind of bill
I'm thinking if it's from a bank it's not fake
but the thing is it has no thread running vertically down the bill, and back then there were no security holograms or anything.

isn't there the blue/red hairs that are supposed to be visible? or they didn't have those as well back then? the fact that is in circulation still makes me believe you have nothing to worry about.

all you need is one of those currency pen's too, to verify.

The bill can't be fake if it has a bank stamp still visible. You can also look up the serial number online.

When is the club serious? What I don't get is why he doesn't ask Tpark if its real since he uses 100s to wipe his ass with.

You got it from their bank. It's a 1985 bill that should probably have been taken out of circulation. Either go back to the bank and get another one, or put the thing in a drawer and hope it's real so you can sell it on ebay in 25 years for 110 bucks.

Oh BTW I worked for an armored car company for several years. The banks and the currency companies all have counters that can scan those bills and separate them out, and should have at some point if that bill isn't supposed to be in circulation. In addition, a 100 dollar bill typically has a lifespan of about five years. In other words, if you didn't get that bill the way you say you did don't think you're going to be able to pull a fast one on the bank. If it's like you said and they gave it to you, you should have every right to go back to them and have them at least check it for you.

Or you can use it in today's economy and buy 1,000 shares of Toyota Tundra stock.

They all used to look like that. It's possible, but unlikely it's a counterfeit, but the layout is legitimate. They moved away from the older design to reduce counterfeiting. There were no inserts across the width of the older bills like the newer ones have. Special, but plain color ink that doesn't change color with angle. No watermarks either.

The red and blue silk fibers are very small and you have too look close to see them.
