I doubt it, but I hope the Spurs don't pick him up if he does get waived. They don't need a 6-6 PF. They need someone in the 6'10-7'0 range.
Do the Thunder keep him for the rest of the season?

NY is shedding money, but why did they pick up Hughes?
They took on Hughes to get rid of Jerome James. Hughes expires by 2010, James does not.
For the same reason tha they acquire Francis and Randolph. Their FO is a mess.
Both Tim Thomas and Jerome James were coming off the books in 2010. James has a player option in 2009/2010.
NY's front office is no longer a mess.
There has to be more than this than Rose for Wilcox. Rose is both worse talent and worse contract... Anybody know the details?
Doh! You're right. I got his contract mixed up with Jared Jeffiries. Too many JJ's...............
Only thing I can think of is that Presti saw the clock ticking and thought he didn't have time to put together anything else so he just took an opportunity to earn some $$$ for the franchise.
Hey! A Malik "hands of stone" Rose sighting!
How long till Malik Rose is back on the Spurs?
My error actually, I thought Malik had 1 one more year - if they both expire this year, the money is enough, as neither is playing for their original teams.
If he is waiced...
Sign Malik to play PF, and TD to play center. Malik has always played "big" even for a 6'6 guy. Jay Howard said as much last week. Could solve out 'big man' problem.
Cool! I am glad he is off the Knicks and back in the Western Conference.
Malik may be beyond rusty right now. Isn't he 34 or 35 years old now?
