Their contracts dont work do they?
Kidd for Davis is an absolute downgrade.
It's Kidd for Davis/Kaman that while risky, is somewhat intriguing. IF that was ever on the table.

Would have been Kidd for Davis. All I can say is![]()

Well, Baron has a 5yr 60 mill. 12 mil a year, what's kidd's salary?
Kidd's contract is expiring this season and it won't cost us that much to re-sign him fool.
this photo was taken 5yrs ago when he was still playing on hornets, but today's B Davis is out of shape.
21 mill this year, but Baron makes like 9 million less this year or something.
I guess I wouldn't have made that trade either if I thought I had the number 2 point guard in the league. It's unbelievable how big of a dumbass Cuban is. Baron would have instantly upgraded the Mavs
A 35% injury prone chucker is not an instant upgrade.
35% chuckers can kill your team. I think I'd prefer Kidd's 40% non-volume shooting to Davis's 35% volume shooting.
While Baron does have a large contract, when he is healthy and playing his game...he is lethal and a major upgrade over what Kidd brings. The guy can pass, score, post up, and shoot and is an absolute beast. Outside of his contract and his choosing to be a chucker at times, I find it hard to understand how he would be a downgrade to the Mavs.
Dallas is lame for passing up on Baron. He could really provide some much needed intensity for Dallas.
the only reason I wanted to trade Kidd for him was just that we can acquire kaman along with him to upgrade our center position, but I've found another way to get kaman without losing Kidd.
I would rather just trade Josh Howard for Kaman himself.
The Mavs need Kaman, not Baron. If Dallas want a chucker, just play Breath more.
This was a sound decision from Cubes...
Another horrible decision by Mark Cuban concerning his PGs....Baron Davis would have been lights out for the Mavs.
WHEW....hey Clippers, trade him to Houston for Artest.
DD
And he passed up B-diddy??? Baron is money in the playoffs
of course Baron Davis will definitely make the rockets team better, because that team cannot get worse no more. It would be a better senario for rockets to trade tmac for Bdavis&Kaman, but rockets themselves of the whole world know tmac is too worthless to be traded.
You really want to take on that contract? And if you think T-Glass is injury prone, this guy is right there with the best of them. On second thought, yes, please Rockets, make it happen!
Mavs did the right thing. Way too much money to tie up in a guy who has missed at least 15 games in 6 of the last 7 years.
A dream scenario is if clippers were dumb enough to take mcgrady for davis
I'd be willing to bet the Clippers would listen................
A 21 million dollar expiring contract is way to much for an injury prone chucker, who at times can play great but who knows which Davis we would see? Throw in Kaman, and it's something to think about, but only if we can't get Shaq for Kidd's expiring. What would really interest me is a kidd/stackhouse for davis/kaman/thornton deal.
our mavs team is a competetive contender, but not a mediocre team that used fluke to get 22 winning streak in regular season and chocked in playoffs. Baron Davis will let rockets team struggle a little bit longer in the first round if he joins it, but the result is always determined before rockets start their postseason.
Jason Kidd is an injury prone chucker who at times can play great but is undependable.
But Davis's peak is a lot higher than Kidd's.
Davis's drink is a lot higher than kidd's.
he just kill his wife right away with his 3mm pistol.
Do you ever post anything worth reading?
Jason Kidd hasn't had trouble with injuries in about the past 4 seasons. He played 80 games in 05-06, 80 games in 06-07, 80 games in 07-08, and every game so far this season. Of course Davis' peak is higher at this point, but Baron has been capable of being the best pg in the league for years. Kobe himself said that Baron is the toughest player in the league to guard one on one. The trouble lies in what Baron chooses to do with all that talent and if he's healthy.
And the main point you're missing here, is that Kidd's 21 million dollar expiring contract is more of an asset than Kidd himself. If money wasn't an issue in this league and players played for free, then sure Baron for Kidd is an upgrade. But we're talking about 21 million freaking dollars off the books in a time where everyone is trying to save cap space for 2010, and phoenix is over there having a fire sale. The Mavs can get alot more than just Baron Davis, or I'd rather just stand pat.
