Life is too short. If anyone here has a family history of diabetes please take care of yourself now so the future becomes much easier.

Wow, that sucks. I know he had been having some nasty problems with his diabetes, but I never knew he was in bad enough shape for it to be immediately life-threatening. RIP.

R.I.P. I thought he was a good owner. The Jazz have been a very compe ive team for many years. You can't do that without good ownership, imo.

He basically put the people in place and got the out of the way, which is probably a better ownership style than meddling in every decision or thinking that you know more than the basketball people.

Regardless, his teams were always ferociously compe ive and very successful, particularly given the constraints that Salt Lake City imposes.

Very good owner. When owners are always itching to fire their coach, Miller has stood by Jerry Sloan through it all. If more owners would learn to trust their coach like Miller did, the NBA would be a better league. Sloan's success can be as tied to Miller as it can be tied to Sloan himself.

And Spurs fans should respect both Miller and the Jazz. When Pop took over the team, he basically modeled the franchise using the Jazz as the example.

Yeah, the Jazz have been a of a consistent team. It was easy to just attribute that to Stockton and Malone for a long time, but it's pretty clear Sloan and the management really know what they're doing.

He recently had both legs amputated (maybe below the knee). That's always a sign it's getting very bad.

    RIP Larry Miller.

Great club owner, great entrepreneur, great philanthropist. As a basketball fan, I had more fun watching the Jazz playin in the last 20 years or so than any other NBA team.
