Bonner stars in his first commercial

Lead the league in 3-point percentage, and the advertising world will beat a path to your door.
Spurs center Matt Bonner spent part of Monday filming his first commercial as spokesperson for a fitness club that got its start in his home state of New Hampshire.
Bonner represents Planet Fitness of San Antonio. Fittingly, it's a health club for the average person, complete with a policy that discourages judgmental behavior.
“I'm the official spokesman for Planet Fitness San Antonio,” Bonner said. “It originated in New Hampshire, so naturally, it's an amazing place,” Bonner said. “Their schtick is that it's just $10 a month, no contracts, no gimmicks, and it's a judgment-free zone.”
Bonner explained the egalitarian nature of the facilities.
“They have an alarm called a ‘lunking alarm,' “ he said. ‘Lunking' is a verb that means to grunt, slam weights, or judge others.
“If you start grunting loud, slam weights, or jump up and flex in the mirror, the alarm goes off and they ask you to stop.”
Bonner entered Tuesday's game against the Mavericks at AT&T Center leading the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage, at 49.7 percent. He figures the fame he has gained from his status as a productive member of the Spurs' starting lineup accounted for his new career as an endorsing athlete.
“Well, that and the fact I'm known in the industry as ‘One-Take Bonner,'” he deadpanned.
Of course, it's not hard to remember your lines when they consist of a total of two sentences.
“My first line,” he said, “was, ‘All that for ten bucks?' Then, I spot the Coyote, and say, ‘Wow, you work out here, too?'”
Ginobili update: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili, out for two to three weeks with a stress reaction of his right distal fibula, has gotten out of the boot he had been wearing to protect his right ankle and has begun conditioning workouts.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Ginobili won't be allowed to begin treadmill work for a while longer, but reported he is happy to be out of the boot and doing something physical.
“He's lifting every day and in the pool,” Popovich said. “He just got out of the boot two days ago, so he'll be getting on the treadmill pretty quickly, but he's just lifting and in the pool right now.”
Look for some behind the scenes video from the commercial in the near future

Bonner should do a BIG RED commercial.
10bucks a month membership, thats fkn a bargain just for regular/casual use without personal trainer....nice....
if only this place existed during beno's days in san antonio...
Bonner seems like the perfect guy for this commercial.. comes across as an ordinary joe.. except of course he makes millions playing basketball..
Oh my god... no.. why do the Spurs endorse Planet Fitness. That place is a joke, try deadlifting 270 without grunting.
Exertion alarm in a gym? Great idea.
exertion alarm, sounds like one of the single most re ed ideas ever
push the trigger, then you'll see the BIG RED for a second, and you'll also see the God short after that.
I Guess it's his first Commercial as a Spurs player.
