HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Rockets waived little-used shooting guard Luther Head on Saturday.
The 6-foot-3 Head appeared in only 22 games this season and has been out since Jan. 10 with a right foot injury. The Rockets drafted Head in the first round of the 2005 draft, but he shot only 35 percent from 3-point range last season and only 37 percent this season.
Head started only four games this season and was averaging 4.8 points and 15 minutes.
The Rockets have won six in a row heading into Saturday night's game in Chicago, Head's hometown.
Haha Luther Head..you wanted to come out against the Spurs and shoot 7-for-11 from the field for 21 points, bull shooting, and look where that got you. Just goes to show that any old fluke can have a good shooting night. Doesn't mean anything.
He'll get a shot at someones training camp next season. Who are the Rockets signing? I heard they were looking at James White and Othyus Jeffers.
Hey SpursDynasty..have you ever posted on the ESPN website?
Luther Head joins Steve Francis at a pickup game at the University of Houston. In their spare time they enjoy playing Halo on their X-Box sets.
Is amazing he stayed as long as he did. Player that can do nothing but shoot a open jumper.
thats a pretty big skill to have. A lot of players make a living off of it.
Is this joke? He is like homeless man version of Steve Kerr and combine with being anti clutch compared to clutchness of Kerr.
SD has never been one to hold a grudge.
