I built my own disto from source (called Puto Linux de Carahlo based on kernel 2.4.26.putokernel), and it's fast as with everything compiled for my processor but I can't for the life of me get my freaking USB wireless adapter working.

Having to keep a par ion for Puta Carahlo de Redmond just to go online is bull man.... is bull .

Companies who don't write linux drivers pueden darme un beso negro.

Hey, but think of it this way, at least all your data is secure on another par ion, because we all know that puto-windows is like James T.Kirk at Boystown when it comes to file and system security

You can always try 2.4.27 or the prereleases of 2.4.28. I assume you have good reasons not to use 2.6 kernels. If nothing else, here is your chance to be a alpha or beta tester for whoever might be developing a Linux driver.

Yeah... I don't use 2.6.x kernels because my video card drivers don't agree with them. I've tried the Prism2 USB wlan drivers, but had no luck getting it up and running (along with a billion other people all over linux mailing lists and all). Does 2.4.27 and 2.4.28 have Alsa drivers built into the kernel like 2.6.x does?

Sounds like a lot of alpha testers out there. I can't say too much about what's in or out of a given kernel. I only dig into it when something's not working.

Yeah, seriously, I had those alphas on betas with a little trifecta that was saudered on top of the flex capacitor and the blender was inoperable.

So, I got a flex top insulator, with a alpha controller to enable my beta loop flex monitor and now the works....

    Who woulda thought?

I ended up buying a better wireless adapter for $30 with a $20 mail-in rebate, and I'm selling the DWL-122 to someone for $15, so I'm essentially being paid $5 to switch to a better card that is now working for me in linux and is 802.11g instead of 802.11b
