When did he say this?
I've heard several people mention this, but unless I'm missing something here we know exactly how this happened, don't we? We gave out too many weak loans in the housing market when coupled with the credit default swaps and the incredibly low amount of leverage cause the economic crisis. Why are there still people in power who are saying things like this?
When did he say this?
On MTP - I'm going to leave open that I heard it out of context since I wasn't paying full attention but I rally doubt it. The fact remains that I keep hearing other people say it too though (although I'm hard pressed to give specifics).
They say that because they don't want to admit their part in legislation weakening the barrier between banks and the market that lead to the meltdown of the financial sector, and in McCain's case...for the second time.
im sure he doesnt even have a clue how to fix the problem either....he probably shift more funds into the war instead of fixing teh economy if he was prez
One other thing we need, we do need a select committee in Congress to look at what happened so people can--this train hit them without any knowledge. They still don't know what happened. Why did it happen? So then they would have some more confidence on, in what actions we might take in the future to prevent it from happening again.

We all know it's the bankers fault . . .
economy was already in the s when he took over, didnt even help when bush increased funding and in the last week in office. Obama was doing what other govts around the world was doing.....trying to find a solution to the problem, but none has worked so far and you have seen around the world with many govts trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
McCain....
He should take his little Maverick nickname and just retire.
