We missed 10-12 shots within 3 ft of the basket tonight. We lost by 8. We make our close range shots and we win this one walking away. We have had this problem all year long.

We shot outstanding from beyond the arc and at the line....but those damn shots in the circle were killer tonight.

If we can continue to shoot well from the 3pt line and the FT line, as well as make more of those layups we were missing, I see no reason why we cant win this series going away.

the question is, can we start to convert inside the paint?

I liked that we were scoring inside and continued to attack. We missed some gimmies, especially on tip-ins. Duncan and Parker were also getting hammered with no calls but everyone continued to attack.

I have to believe that will improve in game 2.

Damp in foul trouble would be a blessing. He was really grabbing boards or at least tipping the ball around. He was also a presence in the paint whether we want to admit it or not.

Bass hurt us offensively but he doesn't rebound or get in position like Damp does.

I was surprised how many easy one's Duncan missed right around the rim. Not sure if that will happen next time, although part of it was Dampier's career playoff game

I was afraid Parker would be the only one to attack the basket while everyone else settled for jumpers. We need to continue that despite the misses.

Yes, I was upset that we were getting hit on our drives and not drawing fouls....but every single foul they called on us in the 1st quarter was an iffy call. if there was contact, it was minimal. barea was flopping all over the place and the refs were buying his act. dampier bowled right over bonner and got away with it. dampier pushed duncan, then duncan caught the ball, dampier hacked him and shoved him out of bounds...no call. Bowen was poised for a rebound, Dirk shoved him out of bounds from behind, got the rebound and the putback...should have been an offensive foul, but once again, a no call.

still, even though the refs sucked hardcore, and we cannot seem to get any love from them anymore........the fact remains we missed too many layups tonight and it cost us.

When you drive your body into a guy or slap him across the wrists or arms it's amazing how often he misses a shot, no matter how close he is to the basket.
