yeah I don't understand this at all.
Veteran Frank Trigg (19-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) is returning to the UFC after signing a four-fight deal with the organization.
The news recently came from a report issued by MMAJunkie.com.
Trigg recently turned 37 and went 2-3 in his first go-around in the UFC that lasted from 2003-2005.
Trigg made his octagon debut at UFC 45 where he lost to Matt Hughes. It was the first of two losses he would suffer to Hughes via rear-naked choke that still haunt Trigg to this very day.
Trigg’s final fight for the company was a submission loss to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 54. He is 7-2 since leaving the organization in 2005.
Trigg has fought for ICON Sport, where he defeated Jason “Mayhem” Miller to win the organization’s middleweight le in 2006. He’s also appeared in PRIDE, HDNet Fights, World Victory Road’s “Sengoku” event series and Strikeforce.
Trigg is currently riding a four-fight win streak, with six wins in his past seven fights. He is expected to make his return to the UFC this fall or early winter at the latest.
Five Ounces of Pain
For me Frank Trigg is a lot like Keith Jardine. Good fighter, might pull off an upset now and then, but he will never be champion
Thats not a bad comparison it terms of results.
Hopefully he takes fighting seriously. I'd like to see him fight Hughes again actually.
What do they think he's going to do? Take on GSP again? Or maybe they think he can finally beat Hughes.

So he comes back and fights a few mid-level WW's and then goes away again.. I don't get why he was resigned??
^ seriously I can't figure it out.
Somebody must have specifically asked for him I would think. Nobody cares about Frank Trigg except for Frank Trigg.
All i remember about Trigg is he pissed off Matt Hughes and got choked out twice..
Ha check it
According to a report, Josh Koscheck is in talks to welcome Frank Trigg back to the UFC for a welterweight bout at UFC 103. There is apparently also the possibility that Matt Hughes could face Koscheck, but at the moment Trigg appears to be likely candidate.
The UFC has yet to announce a venue for UFC 103, nor have they announced any match-ups.
A former UFC welterweight contender, Trigg just recently signed a new contract to make his return to the UFC. He has not fought in the octagon since suffering back-to-back losses (both via rear naked choke) against Hughes and Georges St. Pierre. He is 7-2 since his last UFC appearance, and is currently enjoying a four-fight win streak.
Meanwhile Koscheck has not been seen in the octagon since his upset loss at the hands of Paulo Thiago. He was scheduled to face Chris Wilson at UFC 98, but was forced to pull out due to an injury suffered in training. He is 12-4 in his career, going 10-4 in the UFC.

pretty weak 7-2.
I think just about anyone on TUF right now could give him a run.
agreed
Trigg must have come at a bargain basement price.
Its just such an odd signing.
I think Demarques could kick his ass!
