I figure a 'C' is average, so if I'm evaluating each player on their own individual average level of effort/talent, then those are my grades for the season. Most players performed about as I'd of expected them to...hence the majority being C grades. If we're just talking the first round of the playoffs:
Grade Matt Bonner: D-
Grade Bruce Bowen: B+
Grade Tim Duncan: B
Grade Michael Finley: F
Grade Manu Ginobili: Incomplete
Grade Drew Gooden: D
Grade George Hill: B
Grade Roger Mason Jr.: D
Grade Fabricio Oberto: D
Grade Tony Parker: A
Grade Gregg Popovich: C-
Grade Kurt Thomas: D
Grade Ime Udoka: C-
someone post the results in this thread after the poll. I don't watch the news.
Cool, cant wait to see the results. But yeah, really bad made with the popups
Grade Matt Bonner: C
Grade Bruce Bowen: B
Grade Tim Duncan: B
Grade Michael Finley: C
Grade Manu Ginobili: C => I don't know to grade him
Grade Drew Gooden: C
Grade George Hill: B
Grade Roger Mason Jr.: D => RS : B / PO : F
Grade Fabricio Oberto: D
Grade Tony Parker: A
Grade Gregg Popovich: D => below expectations
Grade Kurt Thomas: C
Grade Ime Udoka: F
Grade Jacque Vaughn: F
Bowen is getting too high scores. His game has slipped. Thats why Pop is phasing him out with fewer minutes. No higher than a C for Bowen.
No higher than a D for manu. He did not listen to the Spurs when they asked him to sit out the olympics. He was still coming off an injury and insisted on playing anyways. He basically just let the team down.
Pop gets an F. Not getting the right players this past summer and ending up having to play Bonner big minutes is a big fail. Not developing Hill by not giving him minutes after his early season success was another mess up.
A for both Parker and Duncan. Those guys had great seasons and are the heart of the team. Duncan was playing in pain for a good part of the season.
I only voted for a select few because of that.
Matt Bonner D - - I wanted to give him an F for his piss poor performance in the playoffs, but he had a better year than last year.
Bruce Bowen B
Tim Duncan A -
Michael Finley C -
Manu Ginobili C +
Drew Gooden C
George Hill C +
Roger Mason Jr. B -
Fabricio Oberto F
Tony Parker A+
Gregg Popovich D - (Really disappointed in him this season)
Kurt Thomas B-
Ime Udoka D
Jacque Vaughn F
Grade Matt Bonner - D
Grade Bruce Bowen - C
Grade Tim Duncan - A
Grade Michael Finley - D
Grade Manu Ginobili - F
Grade Drew Gooden - C+
Grade George Hill - B+
Grade Roger Mason Jr. - B-
Grade Fabricio Oberto - C
Grade Tony Parker - A
Grade Gregg Popovich - C
Grade Kurt Thomas - B
Grade Ime Udoka - C
Grade Jacque Vaughn - C
how in the wide world of sports could anyone not give manu an F?
I see a trend in our grading, so I won't bother posting my grades.
But, I'll grade the obvious.
Parker - A
Duncan - B
Bowen - C
Hill - C
Finley - D
Bonner - F (Is there anything lower than an F?)
Duncan: B
Parker: A
Finley: C
Mason: B
Bonner: D
Hill: B
Vaughn: F
Ginobili: D
Bowen: B
Oberto: C
Thomas: B
Gooden: C
Udoka: C
Pop: D
Parker: A
TD: B
Everyone else is a C or lower.
To grade anyone A plus is to imply they are at the top of their game. Parker still has room to grow on defense and playmaking ability. B+ for Parker. I also think you have to look at the salary plus time on the floor. Manu and Oberto grade a C and actually should be an n/a. No way Udoka is an F when you look at his salary. Vaughn even with the low salary grades D or F because he took the roster spot for someone who might have helped. Thomas grades C or D because of how much he costs verses his production. Finley grades the same because of his inconsistent production. Mason grades a low C (B for the season and F for the playoffs).
Hill and Gooden did everything that they were allowed to do and actually grades are both B. Duncan deserves the only A for the effort he gave while injured. Pop in the end made some of his most critical errors this season. His lack of rookie trust limited the Spurs defensively by benching both Hill and Bowen at times and caused the Spurs to navigate away for the defense first mentality.
Oh yeah, Bonner gets a C, as well because he played above himself during the season. He desperately needs to be traded to another city or he is in jeopardy of becoming one of the most hated Spurs ever.
Duncan: B
Parker: A
Finley: D
Mason: C- Started the season with a B+...
Bonner: B- I don't think he could have had a much better season.
Hill: B-
Vaughn: D
Ginobili: F Nothing against him. It is just that we needed him badly. More seriously he probably deserves a C+
Bowen: C
Oberto: D
Thomas: D
Gooden: C
Udoka: F
Pop: D
Becasue some may not think that he intentionally injured himself to piss off some whining selfcentered es like yourself.
Grade Matt Bonner - D
Grade Bruce Bowen - C
Grade Tim Duncan - A
Grade Michael Finley - C
Grade Manu Ginobili - D
Grade Drew Gooden - B
Grade George Hill - B
Grade Roger Mason Jr. - C
Grade Fabricio Oberto - B
Grade Tony Parker - A
Grade Gregg Popovich - F
Grade Kurt Thomas - C
Grade Ime Udoka - C
Grade Jacque Vaughn - D
