Did anyone really expect a suspension?
Where's the link?
Fisher and Alston got suspended kobe got flagrant
It will come eventually.
Fisher and Alston suspended, as well.
Not surprising. I think it's horse- to give Bryant a flagrant for that elbow. The Fisher suspension I don't agree with, but the precedent is there with all the other stupid suspensions the league gives for things like that. Kicking him out of game 2 was enough IMO.
Like a door to Narnia or something? Link/Source or you are just making assumptions.
Why would anyone expect a suspension? Other than a bunch of whiny gots of course.
You think Kobe should have been let go with nothing? Also, since the booted Ron in game 2 which was unfair, kicking Fish out was not enough.
Patience, my son.
Let's argue Kidd v. Harris in the meantime.
he's pretty much always got good info.
NEW YORK, May 7, 2009 - Rafer Alston of the Orlando Magic and Derek
Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers have each been suspended one game
without pay for their roles in separate incidents last night, NBA
Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations Stu Jackson announced
today.
Alston has been suspended for swinging and making contact with the head
of Eddie House of the Boston Celtics with 48.6 seconds remaining in the
third period of the Magic's 112-94 loss to the Celtics in Game 2 of the
Eastern Conference Semifinals last night at TD Banknorth Garden.
Fisher has been suspended for striking Houston's Luis Scola with his
shoulder and head with 13.2 seconds remaining in the third period of the
Lakers' 111-98 win last night over the visiting Houston Rockets in Game
2 of the Western Conference Semifinals at STAPLES Center.
Fisher
received a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two and was ejected from the game at
the time of the play.
Jackson also announced that the Lakers' Kobe Bryant has been assessed a
Flagrant Foul Penalty One for elbowing Houston's Ron Artest in the chest
area with 6:57 remaining in the fourth period of last night's game.
Alston will serve his suspension on Friday when the Magic hosts the
Celtics at Amway Arena. Fisher also will serve his suspension on Friday
when the Lakers visit the Rockets at Toyota Center.
I think kobe got ron near the neck
that warrants a suspension
chest my foot
I'm glad Fish got suspended, now we can put PG's out there for 48 mins who can actually guard Houston's PGs. Kobe didn't deserve to be suspended but how did he get upgraded to a flagrant yet Rondo can slap guys in the face then through them down by the neck and chuck guys into scorers tables and not get upgraded to a flagrant, I don't understand.
it is against the rules to elbow someone in the throat
bowen does that he is gone the next game
Fish definitely deserves the suspension. That play was uncalled for. And don't they usually hand out a suspension after a flagrant 2?
This is the expected outcome. LOL @ Phil Jackson saying Fish shouldn't get suspended.
so why was that hit worth only 1 game, when Horry's Nash Hit was worth 2?
The NBA...we're inconsistent...for a reason.
Artest was stupid. He had to know the whistle would be extremely fast after Fisher just got ejected for leveling Scola. Anyone could see that ejection coming a mile away when Artest started walking at Bryant, and there's no one to blame but Artest for that ejection. The refs should have called a loose-ball foul on Bryant; that's all it was.
I'm very excited to see what the Laker D looks like with Brown in the starting 5. Should be some great perimeter D between him, Kobe, and Ariza.
Shannon Brown is the new Magic Johnson... just like Bynum is the new Kareem...![]()
Fish had a decent last game but has been struggling tremendously with his shot for the past month or so and more often then not looks ooooold out there on D. Every once in a while he'll muster up a decent defensive game like last night but not that often. Brown on the other had in big, strong, athletic as and is something like 8/12 from three in the playoffs so he's a nice upgrade.
