He should be the number one or two option on the Rockets for next season, Artest shouldn't be taking more responsabilities than him.
His speed is the same as Parker's, and he never fear to dribble to the basket and layup. He even has 3s. I believe he'll be an all-star. We'll see.

Aaron has been playing well since the playoffs started
Some of his moves look like Parker's

Aaron still has problems passing the ball to Yao. Hes too short to look over his defender and too impatient.
Like I said in another thread I thought Brooks was awesome when we played the Rockets earlier in the season. I thought he was good then, but now he is really becoming even better. I heard Rockets fans mention him last season, but didn't really see him play until this season against the Spurs. I thought he is a lot better than Alston, maybe he should start then when I saw that they traded Alston I thought that was a great move from the Rockets.
What do you guys think? What weaknesses does he have?

Aaron Brooks needs to work on his court vision and become smarter (not that he's dumb, but he's still green) and more assertive.
I've seen him make some stupid mistakes during this series i.e. lazy decisions. He definitely has the youth on his side to become another speedy PG that can make his living in the paint.
Definately a TP material, we will see but he is playing good bb in this serie.
Brooks is good I like what i have seen from him. Rockets need to finally part from Tmac. They are on the right track.
Next Tony Parker....don't think so.
He's just having a break out year because nobody is really game planning for him.
He is very good, and has only started 37 games....so who knows where he will go....Tony Parker...man, I wish...
DD
Somehow I think Tony Parker could actually get the ball to Yao consistently. Aaron Brooks not so much. Maybe someday he'll get it but he's still raw with flashes of brilliance.
Great young player but doesn't quite have the point guard position down. See him more as a change of pace back up, but a very good one. Perhaps like Jannero Pargo.
i don't think he'll reach the position of tony parker, but he's definitely a talented player. as jamstone said, he hasn't learned the position. it's either because 1) he's still learning the game or 2) he's too short. being short prevents him from throwing solid entry passes into yao, because he can't see well over the defender, but it's not the only factor.
plus, he doesn't finish as well around the basket as tony parker does. his outside shot is rather developed though.
he certainly is a great player, but next TP?? Not really. Its too early to say, at least
Very few good point guards imo and not really any pure ones outside of nash, paul, and kidd. Houston and Orlando frustrate me by their inability to get the ball to ther bigs.
Brooks seems SUPER QUICK. I don't know if it is magnified by the fact that he is 5'10" and weighs 160, but when he dribble the ball around on O he seems very quick and fast.
yeah they do. Orlando is way worse though. Yao Ming gets fronted a lot and does a horrible job at getting open when he is fronted.
Orlando, on the other hand, is horrible, overrated, worthless coaching from Fat Van Gundy. He has the most dominant in center in basketball, why the does he give Hedo the green light on every in shot and turn Orlando into a finesse, live and die by the three team? He led the team in PPG in the regular season while having the 4th most shot attempts per game. I'd say that guy should touch the ball more.
Brooks has a wicked pull up. He pulled it on Farmar last night and Aldridge last series.
It’s too early to tell; next season he won’t be able to fly under the radar, and team will figure out ways to guard him. Right now his looking more like a TJ Ford than a Tony Parker.
the lakers have a history of making point guards stars. he might be closer to troy hudson than parker at the moment
TJ Ford can't shoot for life.
Aaron Brooks is shooting at a steady 40 % right now at 3 in this year's playoffs.
Aaron Brooks can become a problem in the future if he bulks up, because I can't think of any guards in the league right now that are extremely fast (and by that I mean Tony Parker type speed) yet have a large range.
Brooks gets SO MUC H ING HATE from rocket fans. Even after his performance people were ing, most didn't even acknowledge it. A ing 2nd guard who has only started 37 games and was handed the keys to the team 2 months before the playoffs.
Give him a ing break.
He does frustrate me some times though.
Tony Parker is AMAZING when he drives to the basket...like I have no ing idea how he finishes in there, it is simply amazing. Right now brooks can shoot better, but its not even close. If he ends up being half as good as parker I'll be happy.
He needs to show up for game 5... but congrats to Aaron he is looking really good.
