    Thoughts on this years Finals
    By Bruce Bowen

It's so hard to even watch the Finals. I've been spoiled! Winning 3 chips in my career is something people only dream of. Finals continue every year whether you're there or not. So I find myself calling a former teammate and wishing him the best, and actually meaning it. Hedo, enjoy the moment and I wish you the best. Stan, you've done an amazing job with your team, now you have the opportunity to do something that eluded your big brother......winning the BIG ONE!

As the stars pour into STAPLES CENTER fashionably late to be dazzled and entertained by the worlds greatest athletes, all predictions will be put on hold, and nothing will matter except whose ahead at the final buzzer. Like when we started the journey in October, all the games, arenas, and cities means nothing now. It's all about who get's to 4 wins first.

    Bowen: Sweep the leg.
[George stares at him in shock]
Bowen: Do you have a problem with that?
    George Hill: No, Sensei.
    Bowen: No mercy.

    The Game must go on.
    By Bruce Bowen

As the Lakers and Magic prepare for Game 4, coaches from both sides will be looking for ways to improve upon their last outing.

Lakers will definitely look to improve its 60% plus defensive field goal percentage, and Kobe will get in the gym earlier to make sure he doesn't have another shooting spell like he did in the last game in the second half.

As for the Magic, it's important that they understand that Game 3 is history! Having the utmost respect for the Lakers right now is imperative.

Understand that Kobe won't shoot the same percentage in this game that he did in the last. He'll be more focused, and more willing to WILL his team in any way shape or form to a victory. Sticking to the key principles will allow the Magic to withstand any onslaught the Lakers might make.

That being said, I would like to send prayers to the families who were immediately affected by the tragedy at the Holocaust Museum Wednesday morning. Sometimes I wonder what our world is coming to, where people think of doing things that not only harm others, but their family members, as well. I'm sure those museum workers walked into work Wednesday as any other day, only to be bombarded with madness and tragedy.

While family members are dealing with the unfortunate tragedy that has just taken place, I understand that nothing can take the place of a loved one. I hope for a three-hour window that this game that I have grown to love, can take away some of the anguish and despair that they may have.

Out of order, but here's the one before today's.

    Down 0-2, My thoughts are........
    By Bruce Bowen

Sometimes we get too creative for our own good.

For instance, My wife suggested I go down this Zip Line in Costa Rica upside down. So I did it and added a little "SOMETHING SPECIAL" and ended up with the worst wedgie ever.

If the Lakers try and become "SOMETHING SPECIAL," then they may allow a special opportunity to slip in Game 3.

Orlando must be careful not to fall into the thought process of, we're at home and because we're at home we're supposed to win. When watching film, I'm sure the coaches will say "SUPER MAN" needs the ball in the final 3 minutes of the game.

That being said, Game 3 could be the most pivotal in the whole series. It's where a desperate team is able to gain confidence, and remember what allowed them to get to this point. It's also a game where you can make a team start to second guess the things that once worked so well for them.

During the '05 finals, Detroit smacked us in Games 3 and 4. I think us losing those two games in decisive blow-outs allowed Detroit to get a little lax. In Game 5, they maybe didn't respect us like they did in Games 3 and 4. That being said, Robert Horry stepped into the building and closed things out for us en route to the organization's third championship.

Hasta luego, la gente de Costa Rica!
