ok i don't have much info on the guy.... in fact i don't have any haha. All i know is he was young,he played for a year or two and then got hurt and i think never played again. He seemed to have a promising future. He played like in the last few years i think not part of any of the spurs championships.
any takers? no don't push me for anymore info... i have none.
now answer por favor
EDIT: Never mind ... it's Derek Anderson.

Click on "San Antonio Spurs'" under the "Team" column for any year to bring up a page that includes every player who even played a single game that season.
The guy who comes to my mind is Charles "Spider" Smith, who had several big scoring games in 2001-02, got hurt during the 2002 playoffs, got shipped out to Portland as part of the deal that sent Antonio Daniels to Portland and brought Steve Kerr back to SA, and ended up playing in only about 25 more NBA games.
I liked Alex Garcia, i thought i read on here he was invited to summer league with the team
Devin Brown got a ring, didnt he?
Alex Garcia, Charles Smith (the 2nd one), Derrick Dial?
At least throw out a position...or a some kind of descriptive. Was he white or black? Tall or short?
oh well...this is my guess:
Cory Alexander

Jarren "The Eliminator" Jackson?

ron mercer?
or maybe shane heal? haha all i could come up with

All these men are equally useless..
Samaki Walker never had a promising future.
I was thinking maybe Alex Garcia- he got hurt bad during the pre-season and played only a game or two for SA and then a season he was on NO. But he did keep playing, only not in the NBA and also for the National Team for Brazil.
Like Charles Smith- he went on to play in Europe, just not in the NBA.
Do you mean this person was so hurt he never played basketball again anywhere?
Spiderman's immediately who I thought of too. He had one game in 02 where he dropped 21 on Jordan and hounded him into a horrible shooting night on national TV.

I think we have a winner.
The biggest piece of to walk on god's green earth.
My thoughts drifted back in time to Walter Berry and JR Reid. This lead me to another question.
If you could grab one big man in the Spurs past to play along side Duncan who would you choose? Scratch the obvious Robinson, Gilmore and mings. Other than those three, who would you choose?
i wish i could give you more details... i would know if i saw him.... i just remember in one game and in one play he went up to dunk got fouled hard... and layed on the floor a while and the announcers saying this is horrible for such an up and coming player. oh he was not a big guy almost like TP size... lots of energy some tats...black.
from what i saw posted not :
Cory Alexander
Jarren "The Eliminator" Jackson?
ron mercer?
shane heal
not c smith.... i'll look at the rest in a bit..
Willie Anderson.

I'll never forget when Derek Anderson was slammed by Juwan Howard in that Dallas game. He was going up for a dunk, and was badly hurt. He did come back and play, and then left on poor terms to play elsewhere, so that part doesn't fit.

About how long ago?
Jeez... Black with tatoos could mean everyone but bonner
thanks to all... but Udokafan05 got it....it was
derek anderson
now before all of you/some say "oh he was not hurt... oh he was not a great up coming player or he was not this not that....." i gave what i could so there.
on a side not look what i found:
12. "I'm a (expletive) idiot. I'm a (expletive) idiot. I'm a (expletive) idiot."
To Tim Duncan. Deep down, you know Duncan is kicking himself for staying in San Antonio for three more years. It's not like David Robinson is going to do better against Shaq next season. And it's not like the Derek Anderson-Steve Smith exchange will help the team's chances of defending Kobe Bryant next season. Orlando must be look pretttttttttty good right about now...."
