We don't know why LA fans are insecure..that's the problem..but the fact remains...they win a game, and some Laker fans (not all, but more than other fanbases) decide to post 15,000 threads about how good they are, and guys like DrHouse, and LakerLanny, and 21_Blessings think their team is full of Gods, and they tell everyone over and over again. That's what makes your fanbase insecure. Not you, so much..you've been pretty good about it. But a larger percentage of Laker fans are insecure than other franchises.

For one, you constantly remind yourself of how you think the Lakers are great. It's redundant and if you need proof of how much you've hit it over the head, just check some of the later pages in the NBA Forum. It's almost unbelievable.

Also, for reasons mentioned in another thread, the LA Lakers have a natural advantage over other teams due to their prominence on a marketing level. They have a lot of money to burn (like how the Yankees attract big free agents like Mark Texiera), they have the celebrities, they have a huge city and a ton of fairweather fans to boot. And David Stern just loves them, plus they have what quite a few Lakers fans herald as "the greatest player since Jordan." When they're not doing well despite these advantages, it's time for insecurity, excuses and "I've never been that big of a Lakers fan...I'm only in it for the riots"
