Buckle up, basketball fans. If the Suns and the Spurs meet again this season, the stakes will be through the roof.

Robert Sarver took care of that.

Livid over the Spurs' mysterious decision to rest Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, the incoming Suns owner put on his own marquee performance Wednesday at America West Arena, one that got the attention of the visitors' bench

Sarver tosses 3 fans during Nuggets game

Fan crosses line. Fan gets booted. It's not an uncommon sequence at NBA arenas, except when the fans are said to be major league baseball players berating the home team's owner.

Suns Managing Owner Robert Sarver had security remove three men Monday from America West Arena during Phoenix's win against Denver. By several witness accounts, the men were Colorado Rockies players. They refused to identify themselves when asked in the parking garage.

Sarver said he gave the men, who were seated a few rows directly behind his courtside seat, several warnings before having them escorted out.

"We have a policy and expect a certain type of behavior from fans," Sarver said. "When they violate the policy and don't adhere to a number of warnings, they need to leave. You never want anyone to be asked to leave the game. It's not that hard to follow. It doesn't matter who you were rooting for."

As the men left, one told a photographer: "We were just cheering for our team (Nuggets)."

The NBA ins uted a Fan Code of Conduct in February in light of the brawl involving players and fans at an Indiana-Detroit game.

"We're not going to have too much patience with somebody that continues to do that," said George Bevans, vice president of arena security and risk management.

Yeah, perhaps fan bias shouldn't generate uninformed opinions on topics where hardly any information has been given to the reasons why.

If they were cursing at the surrounding Suns fans, cursing the man out and calling his wife a c-u-n-t, would he have been justified?! I've heard from some pretty credable message board sources that this is the type of "cheering" they were doing on behalf of the Nuggets.

That, to me and most, is pretty cut and dry, 'specially after they were warned.

I think he can go overboard, I've been one to criticize some of his reactions earlier, but ridding your family environment of loud, boisterous, obnoxious jerks is well within his rights as the owner.
