Of course, nobody knew until this morning, when exactly half the school was flooded (it's a pretty small place). Including the carpeted library and the computer lab. They estimate repair and cleaning to take 5-6 days, which puts the school back up and running next Tuesday.
My lucky little monsters get a second spring break this year. And I get more gray hair.

That's a pretty damn rough thing to happen. My freshman year in the dorms someone on the third floor had a pipe bust badly under their bathroom sink. The RA's organized a bucket brigade to shovel water out the window before the entire level's carpet got ruined.

That's the first thing that pop in my mind too.
My first year in the dorms the boys in the room underneath mine decided that the fire sprinkler was a good place to hang some clothes. Both the first and second floors got drenched. During the weekend when most people weren't home to let their rooms air out. And it was a 1927 building with hardwood floors that got warped so badly you could hear people sporadically tripping falling down throughout the building for the rest of the school year.
