Might be a good candidate for the LLE. If they let Udoka go and deal Bowen then they will need a SF. Problem is, if Pop falls back on Finley for 25+ a night in the swingman rotation then you don't want Hill.
If Finley retires, Udoka is let go, then yes I bring in Grant HIll.
He definately still has gas left in the tank and his defense is better than Finley's.

Wouldn't help with the youth movement but he's an upgrade over Finley and Udoka. Definitely a possibility.
The more I think about it, the more Grant Hill is a great possibility.
He still can slash, hes got a great mid range pull up jumper.
Scary thing is hes a good ball handler and Pop would want to make him the backup point.
If Pop wants veterans either Hill or Mcdyses is who I wanna see. Hill is still very capable and hes a character guy, he'd fit very well

Hill this season played 82 games and was a good defender, i want him for the LLE.
He's not a possibility at all for them. Don't ask me why but he loves it in Phoenix playing on a roster full of clowns. He already re-enrolled his daughter in the Phoenix school she goes to because he's that sure he's staying here.
Again, I'm just as clueless as the next guy as to why he wouldn't want to go to LA or something but he loves it here.

Duncan called him and the Spurs went after him following the 2007 championship. He declined and took less money to sign with the Suns.
I highly doubt he'd come now. He seems perfectly happy putting up meaningless stats on the Suns. And really, I don't think he'd be that great of a fit. Not a great shooter and he'll probably break down again come playoff time.
At most he's a one-year rental but I'd rather the Spurs go younger and not invest in a guy who is so likely to go down.

Despite playing some quality ball this year in his role with the Suns, I don't think he is what we need at the Spurs merely due to age. I don't want to be one to go too nuts on the youth movement that we don't consider an old quality player, but Hill is on the extreme end of the age spectrum.
Smart. Intelligent. Good all-around player and would be an ideal fit for the Spurs. That said, I'd much rather the Spurs kill this tendency of signing the latest "old guy du jour", who is rapidly approaching his NBA expiration date. Pass.
My guess is that their friendship suffered from Grant committing early to Orlando and Tim backing out, leaving him with TSlack to partner with.

I'd rather sign/draft a 6-7, long, freckly ginger as long as he's below 26 years old and could survive a season without shattering his tibia or femur.
he's doing less than 2 M. i really don't see anything coming close to his level for this price.
He is the best vet contract on the league: he can shoot, drive, defend. and he stayed healthy lately.
