Yup, kid is going to be a monster for us. Like Malik in his early years, he's incredibly tenacious, never gives up. I think he'll be a good defender against big centres just like Malik was, too.
All we need from him is energy, rebounds and tough D, and he's got those attributes in spades.
My only concern is that he'll be called for phantom "rookie fouls" like all rooks. Why the don't the officials call the game exactly the same regardless of who the player is??? The bull officiating (charge/block call, rookie fouls, superstar treatment, moving screens, etc.) is the most frustrating element of the modern NBA.
man there are some haters here. some ppl don't live on this board and miss things. good post viva, i didn't see the other thread so i'm glad you posted it. as far as blair goes, he kinda reminds me a little of Larry Johnson, Elton Brand and....Malik Rose. I don't think he has the offense of any of those guys, but he does have some junk and a nice little jumper. He can certainly develop some offense later on down the line. I think this guy is a lock for 20 minutes a game. He's just a solid, solid basketball player.

If only Blair was 3 inches taller, he would have been a top 3 pick and probably an All-Star within a couple of years. I like his game better than Blake Griffin's. He's a beastly player, it's a real shame that he's only 6'8" and he looks more like 6'6.
Still, he'll definitely help the Spurs this year and it was a great draft pick.
