Allen Iverson asked for the $5.8 million midlevel exception from the Heat in a one-year deal, but Miami has been reluctant to pay him much more than $2 million, if that. Iverson also is exploring Memphis and Charlotte, but Miami would be his preference if money is equal. The Heat spoke with the agent for Andre Miller -- who's in a stalemate with Philadelphia -- but hasn't pursued a sign-and-trade, and Miller wants more than the midlevel.

He may have a chance with Charlotte. Anybody who chased Radmo 4,000 miles is certainly capable of going after this human debris.

It would be interesting to know what AI's situation would be like had the Nuggets not improved so drastically without him. Before that trade there were enough AI apologists who could say that he was just in bad situations. , I was one of them. But with Billups leading Denver to the WCF it appears that GM's are ready to accept that as conclusive evidence that AI just isn't someone you want to make a big investment in.

He's been propped up by Media, they've carried his water since Philadelphia. Stern in NY has forbade any kind of comprehensive conspiracy of words against him by NBA coaches/frt office personnel. It's been strictly hands off. They're gonna win via attrition.

& it's a black thing. If Iverson were a white man they'd a called him everything but a white man.

it's sad in general that we're gonna remember one of the best scorers in NBA history by this pathetic ending to his career.

DUNCAN, Iverson has wherever he's ate throughout his career. His deliverance is he's a black man living in extraordinary times which facilitated his survival.

Right....I'm sure career averaged of over 28 PPG had nothing to do with him being in the NBA

I want him on the Suns.....a Nash and Iverson back court would produce some epic layup lines for the other team.

All he has to do to complete the cycle is turn down the offers and say "a man's gotta feed his family."

If only the FA gods would see fit to place them on the same team. It wouldn't lead to good basketball but damn it could be funny.

Oh such a fall from grace for one of my all time favorite players. It sucks. But, I cannot deny that he deserves it. He absolutely does. I will always be a fan of how he played in games with reckless abandon, leaving it all on the floor. But, his at ude, his lack of professionalism, and his selfishness are all things that were unacceptable and often unforgivable. He deserves what he's getting. Too bad. He was such a uniquely great talent. He never learned his lesson.

His time in Detroit, but more specifically Denver, proved his inability to play in a system that didn't revolve specifically around him or in a dual, two-star system. The guy is one of the most selfish NBA players to ever grace an NBA court and despite anything he says, would rather get his numbers than sacrifice for the good of the team. He deserves everything that he's getting. And we're talking about him getting paid $2,000,000. Oh, what a travesty. It'll be interesting to see whether he lets his ego get in the way of accepting more money than most people will ever make in their lifetime.
