It's a piece of elasticy material sewn in that is designed to hold the 'girls' in. It's not padded.

Some of them are padded - especially the ones sold at Victoria Has No Secrets. But then again ... they pad absolutely everything they sell - in order to find a non-padded bra there you have to look for some specifically labelled as such. Most of their bras will stand by themselves.

Sorry for starting this whole thing, but everytime I watch a Maria Sharapova tennis match, it kills me wondering if she's not wearing a bra. A sports girl who doesn't wear a bra makes me mad. They are too ty nowdays. So if the dress has a built in one, I wouldn't hate her.
