It's been confirmed that Big Baby was offered the MLE from the Spurs??? I think it's still in the speculation stage.

Gortat by far. I think that for the MLE Gortat is underpaid by a million or two while Davis is overpaid by a million or two.

Perkins and Davis almost took down Gortat and the 'new NBA' bigmen starting in front of him in the playoffs.

    Gortat's contract is hideous.

Not confirmed but anything less than the MLE will likely be matched by Boston and thus a waste of time by the Spurs.

I'd prefer Gortat over Big Baby. I hope we're not signing him. It just doesn't feel right.

Well to be fair Gortat averaged less than 10 mins in that series. Hard to do anything with no PT. Gortat is an unknown with maybe more potential if given playing time. Big Baby had gotten lots of playing time....so you know what ya getting

The MLE is not necessarily a 5 year contract.

I'll take a proven role player big over what 'you don't know that you are getting.'

If the Celts just signed Rasheed, and they're going to sign Grant Hill, they ain't matching that someone offers to Davis.

MB: So you are going on record that Davis will out perform Gortat? How will you measure this?

Well if Orlando doesn't match...the Mavs have to start Gortat and see what he can do. That means trading Damp for pretty much anything. Not sure if the Spurs start Big Baby of bring him off the bench.

My bad, that's obviously something the Mavs wouldn't be able to accomplish.

Is it not the objective to win championships instead of best positional statistical performance? The Spurs, should they sign Davis or Bass, are clearly not looking for regular season box score wonders.

yeah, but Big Baby in that series rocked 4.5 rebounds a game ! Boo-yah! In only 31 minutes a game that crushes Gortat's 2 in 9.5.

I just don't see the Spurs signing Glen Davis for 5 years, or using the full MLE on him... this is just one of many rumors floating around out there. I'd say it's ten times more likely they sign someone like Shelden Williams to a two year/4 mil contract than signing Big Baby to a 5 year/MLE type of deal.

Such a weak argument. Some players bust their ass only to have their teams fall short. Does that mean they were only "fantasy wonders" like you speak about?

To act like you truly believe what you are saying is absurd. You can watch players and see who is better.

Did Sasha have a better year than Davis last year?
