Shame David never won a ALL-Star MVP
Lets thank that gambler Jordan and that Smiling HIV got named Magic!
I looked this up yesterday when I was bored and thought it was interesting see all of the past award winners on the Spurs. It's interesting to see who got some awards and who was snubbed. I'm still upset that Duncan/Bowen never won DPOY. And no Executive of the Year for Buford? Even back in the day when we brought in Ginobili/Parker?

Manu had this on his facebook, fun facts.

THOUGHTS:
nice to see us earning these awards...basically thats also what the spurs are standing for!
basially the only important award, coz it never (ok, nearly never) goes to the lossing team of the finals!
so, Hakeem counts as an US american?
I'll buy it!![]()
we need to have a good run with Manu on board this year...Larry we get you!!!
I hope someone stabs you in the eye you ing bigot.
I didn't know that Tim Duncan won MVP back to back, I wish we could have that Duncan back.
Need to get R.C. one of those Executive Awards, can't believe he doesn't have one already.
Shame Bruce never got a DPOY too... kinda rediculous.
Thats probably because alot of people consider Bruce Bowen dirty.
Hmmm, good point. Parker was listed as the first foreigner. I believe thats probably because Hakeem imigrated and actually got his American citizenship. But even with Hakeem in the picture thats still not that many foreigners.
Damn shame that the lists stops there with no inclusion of Duncan or Bowen.Defensive Player of the Year (Since 1982)
Alvin Robertson 1985-86
David Robinson 1991-92
Oh! So now what? You can't accuse someone of smiling? So he likes to smile! So what!
It's disgusting that Duncan and Bowen don't have DPOYs..
hopefully our defense is back in the elite this year, and Duncan gets one as a career award..
Ohhhh I'm sorry I insulted you MJ ....maybe if you didn't gamble YOU WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BANNED EEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!
Quit the NBA for two years...
...and Magic if you didn't screw around with Paula Abdul and all the Laker Girls and cheat on your wife cookie YOUR PIPI and blood would have been ok!
As Sam Kinison said "Why do you up, people expect that from me I'M NOT ON A LUNCH BOX.....there are no Sammmy Dolls!!!!!"
Is that more politically correct asshole!![]()
A huge shame. Years from now there will be people who think Garnett and B. Wallace were better defenders than Duncan and won't have any idea how great Bowen was because of the lack of DPOY award. To a certain extent Bruce and Timmy split "the Spurs" vote, allowing people from other teams to take the award.
Here's the truth (in my biased opinion, of course.)
Timmy is the best interior defender since Bill Russell. Name another Big that was better, longer than Tim? DRob was great, but not this great. Hakeem was awesome but faded late in his career. Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, Moses, Ewing?? None of those guys were in Tim's class on D. Other Power Forwards? Malone, Barkley, McHale? Not a chance.
As for Bruce, he was simply the best perimeter defender since Michael Cooper.

Didn't Gervin and Robinson win scoring les?
Well, Duncan has his all-NBA defensive teams at least, and his advanced defensive stats stack up well with almost everybody..
Bowen got screwed for DPOY!
Shaq is only a great center because he won 3 rings with LA and traveled alot in the paint, and his free throws sucked!
D Rob's stats are way better than the "outhouse"
Yes!
GG won 5
DR won one in '94
Add RC in Executive of the Year for 2010
The league also named their Community Assist Award after David.
