This could be very very bad for the Lakers if Portland turns their attention to Odom. So far they have said that they don't want him though. Lets hope they stick to that.

Really? Huh. Oh well, weaken your Western Conference rival then.

Y'all have the Warriors, Clippers, Suns and Kings? Dang that's an easy division.

Portland is filled with idiots, they'd offer 50 mil to AI before they even talked to Odom

Other than doing this to make LA worse, why the would Portland go after Odom? They have enough wing players and giving Odom a long term deal would them over a few years from now. That means less money to keep alot of these young guys around. He doesnt even make them all that much better. Portland has much bigger needs: a pg and a low post scorer.

The media has been crucifying the Blazers for not taking a shot at Odom. Pritchard might just make the call to save some face.

I agree 100% but never underestimate stupid GM's desperate to blow some cap space.

Jazz to keep F Paul Millsap

The Utah Jazz are going to hang on to forward Paul Millsap.

The Jazz posted on their Web site Thursday evening that they plan to match Portland’s offer to Millsap, a restricted free agent. A formal announcement was scheduled for Friday, the last day Utah can match the $32 million deal that includes $10.3 million up front.

Millsap averaged 13.5 points and 8.6 rebounds last season, playing mostly as a reserve. He stepped in when starter Carlos Boozer missed 41 games with a knee injury and had a string of 19 straight double-doubles.

I have no idea why the youngest team in the league wanted to get Hedo other than them being excited to have money to spend. That move makes as much sense as them getting Odom. Portland should just save their money and go after someone that fills a bigger need. Milisap was a good try tho.

Odom is going to be 30 in November. Portland has a young team. In a few years alot of the youngsters will be up for new contracts. Blowing all your cap money on a 30 year old Odom isnt a wise thing to do and it could really hurt them down the road. Like I said, other than wanting to LA over, Odom doesnt make sense.

You're an idiot. Do you think if Millsap hadn't taken the POR offer, we'd have kept him for significantly less? Keep dreaming. We have uber desirable trade chips, a top PG and a lot of talent around him. We're in an enviable position compared to the majority of NBA franchises.

You have Yao's broken foot, a creaky kneed malcontent with a 21 million dollar deal and memories of the time Ron Artest was enough to get you past the first round.

    off.
