Maybe Samanic needs to do something that actually proves he is good at basketball.
We've been giving this guy a pass for two years now..."he just needs more minutes". There may be a legit reason he isn't getting more minutes.

You can call me a sniffer all you want...but sometimes guys just don't make it. It looks bad for PATFO if they wasted a 19th pick on a bust, but I also don't think the answer is just GIVE HIM MINUTES and he is magically going to transform.
If he isn't a good player, he isn't a good player...and so far, I'm not impressed even throughout the very brief flashes he has shown. Dude has spent more time lollygagging around on an NBA court than he has actually making an impact.
KJ came in and proved he needs minutes right away. Jones came in and proved he needs minutes right away. Primo seems to be on the same path. What has Luka been doing during all of this?
As I mentioned before, I think this would be a good opportunity to see if Pop has other ideas the rotation at this time. Monday could've been his first attempt, but you'd think guys like Vassell might get chances to start or Young will get burn if the team isn't dead set on moving him. Unlike last year, there are enough pre-season games to give guys developmental minutes. Obviously with so much turnover, getting real game minutes with the new rotation matters, but just like with Eubanks/Landale, there are theoretically compe ions elsewhere on the roster that should be resolved too.
Also does anyone think Samanic might be the Spurs' play for the other two-way spot? I can totally imagine the Spurs not wanting to pay him $4 Million or whatever next year but being down with keeping control of him for another year. Sam would clear a bit more money this year by signing rather than being traded, so it's not horrible for him, but being bound by RFA status doesn't feel great either. It'd be interesting.
I don't think the old man is main problem or even lion's share of the problem when it comes to Luka tbh. Just pointing out that Samanic has shown flashes when he's gotten minutes. He seems to be the type of player that takes a while to get his rhythm before he starts making an impact...just an observation. I would think the team would try their best to put him in a position to succeed considering the draft capital they invested in him and his skillset but maybe it isn't a priority...
Maybe he's not good in practice or it's a character thing....why that matters more than pure talent to a rudderless organization starved of impact players is a different debate
You also mention Jones like he's a lock to get some rotation minutes this year. When in all likelihood, he'll be glued to the bench behind that POS Bryn.
The old man has had garbage rotations for a long, long time now. Maybe Samanic truly does suck but PATFO haven't really done much to help the kid out IMO.
Luka's biggest problem is he seems like an en led pussy. appears Pop knows it too. Doesn't seem like he has put the work in and doesnt seem like he really seizes the opportunities he's given. sure he's show flashes, but every NBA scrub shows flashes at some point. i just dont think he has the motor or desire and he probably thinks he's being treated unfairly when in reality he's soft as baby and makes incredibly stupid plays every time hes on the court. imo

Half of the league is self en led pussies. Not a big Luka fan, but I also don’t think he is a scrub either. Just a long term project, but at a certain point you have to let him go or play him. That point seems to be this year IMO.
