So i'm back studying now that i'm back from Africa. I finished my Business Degree before we went and now im doing Postgrad Studies to become a Chartered Accountant.
Just curious if anyone on here is an Accountant, and if so, what area are you in?
I'm looking into either Tax or Forensic Accounting.
Just curious about what areas are the most interesting etc

lol i got bachelor of busines (accounting major)
umm graduated 2yrs ago, now a fkn bum doing all....
was thinkn of doing CPA...but cbf
Random, but yea I graduated with my Masters of Science in Accountancy last year. I'm currently about to take my first part of the CPA exam-its a to pass all four parts- will prob take you a year-and it's expensive because you have a ton of fees to take the tests and then your going to have to spend a load on review material. As for work after i get my CPA i want to go into forensic accounting/government auditing areas. I have absolutely no interest in tax accounting and definitely will focus on auditing-but most lower level accounting jobs you'll have to do both auditing and tax as many firms deal in both areas.
RandomGuy is a financial examiner for the Texas dept of insurance and is almost done with his MAcy. He audits the books of insurance companies to make sure they have the required amount of savings, etc. I think they're pretty much always hiring and they just increased the pay schedule to compete with non-state jobs.
