My mom still puts money in the card even after I've told her multiple times not to do it.
She even does it for my other siblings, including my brother who just turned 50.
I'm turning 26 in a couple weeks and for the past 5 or so years I've wondered when my aunts, uncles, and grandparents will stop sending me money for my birthday. Anyone know when the cutoff age is? I'm not complaining, as I don't mind getting $50 each year from the aunt I've seen 5 times in my lifetime. But each year I get older, and more established in my career after college, it feels weird taking money from these people
I'm thinking maybe after I get married it stops, anyone know?

Damn, I'm going on 24 and I haven't gotten money in years. My family is cheapskating me. I always figured that died off after like graduation or something.
I say you let it ride as long as possible and take that ish to the bank!
but hes established in his career!
you must be white
I mean like getting older and not living on my parent couch anymore wanting to borrow money. Didn't mean to sound pompous even though it didn't
very.

She has a good heart. You will understand why she does it when you are her age with children.
We only live once, take advantage of the time you got.
I think it stops when your Mom and Dad die, or they get Alzheimer's and don't remember who the you are.
Usually about that time you'll have kids of your own that you don't know what to get them, so you give them cash, until you die or get Alzheimers.![]()
I only get money from the parents if they have no idea what to get me... otherwise money from the extended family stopped about college for me.
Kind of like pre-paid long term health care plan!!!![]()
I think I was 17 when I stopped getting money. Now I give it.
I haven't got jack besides some shoes for my birthday since I was like 15.
you mean 2006
2005, son.
I've gotten a $100 bill in every birthday card and xmas card ever since I left home (20+ years). It'll be terrible when that ends because that means my parents will be gone![]()
Well maybe if you kissed your parent's ass a little more, and quit selling drugs out of their house, and stealing they might be nicer to you. Ya think???

For us, it never stops, but when you reach a certain age you start giving them money/gifts for their birthdays and it basically evens out. But it's still fun to give and receive.
Wait till they start getting really old and start doing estate planning. That's when it really gets interesting.
I didn't think I got money as a little kid. Maybe once, from a visiting relative from Israel whom I never saw again. When I was a teenager I started getting a little bit of money. And as I grow older, I seem to get more and more, but only from my grandparents, God bless them. I t would have bothered me. However, I am currently unemployed, and I don't mind a little extra cash on my birthday.
