Deju?
Someone leads the Spurs in points and rebounds this preseason......![]()
C'mon guys...enough is enough.
No Kidding.
PREseason guys. Remember that. The Blair suckfest is starting to get a bit annoying.
what sour ass fans some of you are... go DeJuan Blair!
He might get Pop's usual rookie treatment. I wonder how many would be after Pop's head...
wohooo!!!!!!! i love blair!!! "i want to scream it on top of a mountain, but i dont have a mountain i have spurs talk!!!" seriously if he plays good against the l.a bigs, and dominates the boards, prepare for some scarey man crushes
In all fairness, I think Blair is going to settle in as a solid role player. Like someone mentioned in another thread (it was a good point, if someone cares to link to it) -- even the "training camp fodder" players are still remarkable athletes, and better than any player you have ever played against.
Blair dominated in the pre-season; he's the elite of the elite. But in the regular season, when the big dogs come to play, he (and, more appropriately, we) are going to see he has a lot to learn. The guy's not there YET. But he certainly has the tools.
The guy I've been most impressed with thus far is RJ. He's going to be a bigger addition than I think a lot of fans realize.
+1
The Blair suckfest is resembling the Pops suckfest of last season. I think the guy can help the team, but let's not get carried away here. It's still only PREseason.
Like someone said earlier, let Blair do it against the LA bigs and then we've got something. However, as Bonner and Mason proved last year, what happened in the regular season doesn't translate to the postseason.
So as harsh as this is going to sound, I'm going to have tempered enthusiasm for Blair until he can prove he belongs in the postseason.
I like him too...a lot...but it get's to be a bit much when every time someone has a thought about him they start a thread.
Blair will be more than a role player.
I'm telling you, judging by the number of threads these players generate, the Spurs are doomed in the future because they can't have a frontline of Scola, Pops and Blair.
you must be new to Spurstalk. Or did you miss last year's 49 page James Gist thread?
I remember the Gist threads as well. Add him to the lineup of Blair, Scola, and Pops.
Yea, but unlike Gist, Scola and Pops this guy is actually on the roster and actually kicking ass.
...in preseason.
vs legit players... he held his own vs scola and actually made scola look like a chump on the court. i saw it first hand from the bleachers.
i hope his preseason game translates to the regular season.
dude, I don't remember Gist,Pops,Scola being hyped by the national media like Blair is![]()
this is how a message board becomes negative
nobody ever gives a about the national media until they write preseason articles on one of our rookies, come on now let the man play
To be fair Pops dunked TWICE in a single game last season
Thats because Blair played at a very high profile school(Pitt) and a outstanding carrer for a perennial top 10 college program. I believe also that such a talent that slipped all the way to the 2nd round, adds to the hype.
I've got nothing but love for all three of you. You'll be welcome aboard the "tempered enthusiasm" section of this train once you come around. Championship rings, rebounding les and keg parties will still be available to you despite your reluctance to acknowledge his greatness now.
Meanwhile, may it rain windex while we watch a legend in the making.![]()
We might consider a new forum on this board
